My suspicion is that if AI saves anyone time, it is usually because it has redistributed workload to someone else. Someone less lazy and more competent. LLMs are a tool that creates work for skilled, conscientious people & reduces for annoying, useless tossers.

IMO one of the biggest problems is that they make the EA/longtermists look moderately sane. They have become a useful foil for the people actually driving a lot of development and investment.

I definitely haven't been working on this all morning rather than preparing a presentation. HoopIQ mode is a great feature as well. A lot of scrolling and trying to remember if some dude from the 60s was a good player or just a good coach.

And we are likely just at the precipice regarding the ramifications of the transition of GOTS to COTS. The inherent speed focus, high turnover, and loss leading tendencies of the modern SV VC-funded firm may work from a business standpoint to open and capture markets but "move fast and break things"

Recent #TorontoTempo signing Julie Allemand was stellar last year for the Sparks. She was in most of the top 2 player combos and led the team in individual net rating as well. Her ability to create was a huge factor as she was in the #WNBA top 10 in ASTs per 100 and the only player with an ATO > 3.

Looking to build off a rough season, the #DallasWings had a few combos that were net positives and Paige Bueckers was on the top 2. The key will be getting good shots in the minutes when she sits.

Griner moving on from the #WNBA #AtlantaDream may be a blessing in disguise for them. Her minutes last year represented the worst five "2 player combos" (high volume) and 7 of the worst 10. She was not represented in any of the top 25 2 player lineup combos for the dream.

Morgan Flom @moflom.bsky.social · 12/04/2026
Snooping around some #WNBA #IndianaFever lineup data from last year. And unsurprisingly CC and AB dominate the top 2 player combos, and if you include Mitchell, then 10 of the top 11 high volume combos have one of those 3 on the floor. The second unit drop off was significant.

It's also a product of the early dotcom winners running the SV VC world. They weren't geniuses they were just first and cashed out. The Netscape guy only wields as much power as he does cause he was born in 71 and was in that first wave. Marc has made it abundantly clear that he is not that bright

This article perfectly and maybe unknowingly captures a major fear of offloading tasks to algorithms. The human in the loop is meaningless if the volume/velocity of data + reduced # of humans ensure those humans don't have the capacity to intervene and review the targets. @elkeschwarz.bsky.social

Morgan Flom @moflom.bsky.social · 04/03/2026
Totally. It's the military version of "flood the zone with shit". The use of these systems tells us that accuracy is less important than volume and velocity.
