I used JEV to create an (awful) LLM. From a text and a list of words it chooses the next word. Full description here lnkd.in/p/eQtXZwNq

Using JEV I simulated the Attention mechanism. On a text, for each pair of words I approximate the attention score. Texts are bidimensional entities! moebio.com/attention/

The most peculiar aspect of this type of art/experiment is the waiting, the patiente. I'm almost not used to creative endeavours that do not provide immediate sensorial feedback!

Festivals / events that showcase speakers with "enhanced" picture version of them using AI. I don't think I'm alone perceiving this as the opposite of innovative.

This might be an example of the power of framing. Because it's a diagram, and because it's about abstract art, no one saw the bull on it.

With Russian, Ukrainian, and now also Iranian airspace closed, only a small passage remains for international flights from Europe to Asia. My colleague @zacys.bsky.social wrote about how some airlines are profiting more from this than others, and I created this map. www.zeit.de/wirtschaft/2...
Globe of the Eastern hemisphere showing flight tracks between Frankfurt, Germany, and various destinations in Asia, including Mumbai, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Shanghai, and Tokyo. Russia, Ukraine and Iran are highlighted.

As usual very well designed project. I point though to the pseudoscientific idea of intelligence being a score. What we call intelligence in dogs are measures of performance for adaptations ("training") to some subjective and cultural expectations. Ranking intelligence by race: not a great message.

Imagine a person that has the same tone and manifest emotions identically every day… unbearable. Imagine an AI that changes its tone and manifest emotions differently every day… unbearable. We don't want machine to be like humans, we never wanted.

The discourse around lowering requirements for software to embrace LLM generated fast code, if you take it far enough, ends up suggesting that software is only about shitty online applications for trapping people into attention vortices. Truly critical software lives in another dimension.

The idea of "interactivization" of historic charts is great! There should be a contest for this. Small suggestion: whenever you move on an horizontal curve (year and quantity change) or vertical (age and quantity change) that curve gets highlighted.

Sometimes Cursor is the worst developer buddy (like placing a break within a forEach, or changing the values of a dataset (!) when I complain about the results of an analysis algorithm), and sometimes it reads my mind.
