Why can't the NHS say this plainly? Type 2 Diabetes is a disease of carbohydrate sensitivity and intolerance. Just as someone with lactose intolerance manages their condition by avoiding dairy, people with carbohydrate intolerance should reduce their intake of sugars & starches.

As you say: UPF are cheap, convenient and available almost everywhere. Fresh food is relatively expensive and requires more time and money to prepare and cook. "The book cites experimental findings showing that people placed in environments rich in UPF consume more calories without realizing it." 👍
