my editor (me) is a loser who makes me cut the funniest parts of my fics because they “don’t suit the narrative tone” or whatever 😒

A snippet of dialogue that reads:
"Ugh, don’t tell me anything else. I don't want to know. Do you know how insane it is that we're even talking about this? I should be losing my mind. I should be invoking the name of every Creator and praying for the return of your wits." Her fingers twitch as if to make a gesture for their gods but remains undecided on which one to entreat. "…But, if I were curious… how generously would you describe proportions?"
"I’m not doing that."
"Well, how else am I going to find out?"
"Why do you want to know?!"
Mahariel throws her hands up. "This is quite possibly the greatest historical find of the People to date! All of the legends we were raised on and you have the chance to ferret out which ones were true."
"And you think the size of his cock is one worth preserving, do you?"
"Arguably more than any of the others, yes."

mood took a dip. then a peak. then a dip. so i wrote through it like the big [citation needed] that i am (through spite. spite writing. spiting) yes. through spite, and solavellan, all things are possible 🙏 🥚

A snippet of writing that reads:
“Solas lets her sit with the realisation when it comes, the faintest smile curling his lips. Above them, his eyes track the way understanding settles over her with the intensity she has come to expect; the watchful way he prepares for the outcome, forged from his careful, patient machinations. She could be wrong, and handily embarrass herself, but while her insides twist with a reawakened ache, she watches him in turn for some sign that she is not mistaken. She anchors herself in him, his reaction to hers. The patience she thought divinely endless has ebbed and he watches her now like a hunter in tall grass. With every passing moment she can feel his desperation that she pick up the trail he has laid at her feet. Not even that, he is beckoning her down the path, impatient with every breath that passes between them unanswered.”
