Oh it definitely wasn’t kudzu. I am almost positive it is a native muscadine grape vine. This is in SC.

Not that I could tell, the vine was coming up and climbed maybe 60(?) feet up to the tops of the oaks. Lots of info I am finding says that is mature wild muscadine.

I know, but it came out of the ground like that and vined up the trees, and there were other smaller vines coming out around it. It was right by the river.

I think it is a grape vine or a super duper mature Virginia Creeper. It was definitely a vine.

I located two (2) spoons today so my kid and I went on a tiny nature walk by the river and we found what appears to be the biggest goddamn vine in the world. What IS it???

The truth, of course, is they want this portion of our society out of view completely so none of us have to confront the reality of our deeply fucked up and unfair society.

They kept heavily implying that FNB doesn’t treat people with “dignity” because people are fed outside where there are no bathrooms. Except there are bathrooms right inside the public library for anyone who needs them. Including icky homeless people.

Not only that, but Food Not Bombs cleans up after themselves and their patrons. They bring giant trash bags and do their best. Trash cans sure would help though. But nope, not if the scary unhoused people will use them!

He also complained about the trash from feeding the unhoused folks. My husband pointed out they removed the trash cans and the mayor said they wouldn’t put trash cans back until my husband’s group stopped feeding people there.

Today the Mayor of the City of Columbia heavily implied that my husband and his group are responsible for instances of human feces that public works has to deal with downtown. As if our food-insecure neighbors are pets of those who feed them? Asshole.

My spouse keeps arguing with me that I don’t have enough evidence for this statement so we are going to watch it tonight and I am going to list everything Christmasy about The Lost Boys and then he’ll be sorry.

I have trigeminal neuralgia, so the main thing that is my problem is that I am in constant bad pain, which causes brain fog. There’s a drug in development that will help me but that’s all I got.

Just waiting on a new clinical trial at the moment to access what I need, but it will happen and I’ll get back to normal life. For now, Bluesky and Reels will have to do.

I also just realized that your school has the journal that published me a couple of years ago. Another thing on my list for when my brain works again is updating that article and talking your students into re-publishing it.

I am really looking forward to a time when I can read books again. I keep trying but my brain won’t cooperate, it is too distracted. I’m starting with @smbrnsn.bsky.social ‘s book when my brain works again.

I read the first couple pages of the Mask of the Red Death in 4th grade or so and it scared me more than made sense to me at the time. I mean that or Scary Stories. It was the 90s.

The wildest thing is that there actually could be a “corporate death penalty” if we wanted there to be. It is a thing we have in our legal arsenal in the US, but the big problem, of course, is no one in the government wants to harm a corporation, even an evil one.

A man in my trigeminal neuralgia group posted that alcohol helps his pain and anyone who comments and says anything about alcohol having any downsides is getting attacked. Including people who self medicated and now are in recovery and who are trying to warn others. What the hell, dude.
