Thrilled for the launch of @kiro.dev today! We started with two main ideas that led to Kiro's spec-driven development features: 1) AI can help us build better products through rapid prototyping 2) Devs can declare their app's requirements to get better results from AI, close to production-grade code
A ghost nightlight with the word Kiro

The vast majority of MCP servers today aren't actually servers 😱 They run as a child process and communicate over stdio, a bit awkward for distributed systems trying to use MCP. Backend apps can now run existing stdio MCP servers in Lambda functions with this new library: github.com/awslabs/run-...
Flowchart showing a distributed system that uses MCP to communicate with MCP servers running in Lambda functions.

In the future we may not talk about specific agents but rather capabilities that autonomously complete tasks on our behalf. My hope is that as builders learn to harness and direct these new "systems", we will get a significant acceleration in the quality and velocity of software.

Deepak @mndoci.bsky.social · 04/12/2024
Today, Q Developer offers software builders a core set of agentic capabilities from the breadts of the agent for software development (/dev) to specialized agents for specific tasks (/test, /review, /doc, /transform). Our customers are already guiding us to help evolve these and identify new ones.

Deepak @mndoci.bsky.social · 04/12/2024
We often talk about agents as specific things. Today, that's somewhat useful. I think of agents the way we think about services in a distributed system, each performing specific tasks. We are still learning how to build these new distributed systems with components implemented as agents.
