Haligonia published it, so I wouldn’t worry.

I tried the Maple Buds. The chocolate was okay, but it was just a solid hard block. The closest taste/texture I have ever had to the original Maple Buds was the Aero gold bar they made a couple of years ago.

If DND were to be a partner, would they want to have dedicated access to a significant amount of the available ice time?

This is very interesting. If Lutnick spoke to Carney twice in the 24 hours before the deal broke down, what was he talking about? Was he adding or reinterpreting demands?

Why can no American pronounce "premier" properly? It refers to a politician, not a movie.

I doubt the units in the new fourplexes are as affordable as the 5 one and two bedroom units that are currently available less than a five minute walk from them.

Christy Linders @mmcmdl.bsky.social · 21/08/2026
As of right fourplexes in existing neighbourhoods. I am NOT saying they should be banned. But what works in one neighbourhood doesn't always work in another one. One of the things I like about my neighbourhood is that it is already a harmonious mix of single/duplex/townhouses/apartments.

Well, I do not agree that enough time was put into the discussion of the specifics of this particular type of construction.

I disagree. I think we have normalized that certain things are virtuous and thus can't have flaws.

So you should give feedback on that.

They tend to be grouped together by style though. If they are cheaping out on the exterior and the design, what else are they cheaping out on? Probably not the rents....

Christy Linders @mmcmdl.bsky.social · 21/08/2026
It would be nice if there was some effort to fit in with the neighbourhood instead of using the blandest, cheapest materials possible. I am pro density, but does density HAVE to be ugly?

Had the most magical evening in Bridgewater at @gooddogbooks.bsky.social!! Fantastic chats, hibiscus iced tea, & even a few signed copies left behind if you're in the area! It struck me how special reading communities are and what a privilege it is to be given the space to exist in readers' orbits.

If you heard a banshee cry this morning, it was me. A FATE WORSE THAN DROWNING, 3 weeks after release, is OFFICIALLY A USA TODAY BESTSELLER DEBUTING AT #117!! I was floored when I saw the list. I may have made a noise that was not appropriate given I was at my day job. I'm a bestseller!!! 😭😭😭

The original Ottawa train station is currently the Senate. We took the Senate tour last summer while we were visiting Ottawa and you can still get a sense of it having been a station in some areas.

My husband answered the call at our house, just before starting an online meeting, which he is still fortunately in, because the power is still on. There is no update on the NS scheduled outage page or their social media.

A thought from last night's Q&A worth repeating: I used to see publishing as a race. I was losing if I wasn't making Big Progress Now. What a silly way to see your passion in life! Lately I've pictured it as a relay race, but one where I'm not competing against anyone, only helping my "next" self.

Hey @chapmans.ca! Time for you to come to the rescue of Canadian popsicle lovers! The competition has steadily decreased the choices available. Can we get standalone boxes of root beer, cherry, chocolate and lime ice pops? PS - Your Cold Brew Coffee ice cream is magnificent!

One of the issues that I think plagues media today is the bleed-over between opinion/editoral and news reporting. Do you think The Examiner separates the two adequately? What about other media?
