Oh yeah, at home is different. But I recall not wanting my family to see me naked at some point. Definitely a learned modesty. But that College St YMCA sure cured me of any modesty in change rooms. I was often reminded of this old Oatmeal comic.
two-panel the oatmeal comic contrasting locker room etiquette. top panel, "young men in the locker room": two guys changing discreetly — one towel-wrapped pulling up jeans, the other in underwear hunched over a shirt on the bench. bottom panel, "old men in the locker room": four elderly, balding men stand fully naked (pixelated) around the same lockers and bench, loudly bantering about a "piggers" game, one blow-drying his groin with a hair dryer ("WHIRRRRAR!").

Bought a mini PC that was supposed to come with 32GB of RAM and a 1TB NVMe drive. It wouldn't post, so after some troubleshooting I popped it open and... it's been stripped. Guessing this unit was previously purchased, stripped, and returned. It's getting desperate out there.
The guts of a mini PC, revealing that the memory and storage is missing.

Verbing weirds language. This C&H comic lives rent free in my head.
Three panel calvin and hobbes comic, outdoors in snowy woods.

Panel 1
Calvin: I like to verb words.
Hobbes: What?

Panel 2
Calvin: I take nouns and adjectives and use them as verbs. Remember when "access" was a thing? Now it's something you do. It got verbed.

Panel 3:
Calvin: Verbing weirds language.
Hobbes: Maybe we can eventually make language a complete impediment to understanding.

Gotta get yourself into a small little Cessna or something and tour mountains that way. It’s transcendent. We did a float plane tour of glaciers on a trip to Whitehorse, and it was amazing.

Used in earnest one (1) time by a poster in the middle of a meltdown over site changes when the whole platform was like 3 minutes old. Used in jest since, and codified as a label from the sky watch labeler.
Bluesky Elder
This user has been here since before the media tab (August 2023). This label is not a label of honor—no highly esteemed deed is commemorated here.
This label is meant in jest and dates to early experiments in labeling. It is applied to the first 800,000 Bluesky accounts. Appeals honored.

FYI, with the nuclear block behaviour, these kinds of parting shots are pointless because the blockee will never see it (unless they happen to have clearsky open). Also, Roger’s instinct here is correct! He just fails to see how it cuts against his own argument against mod lists.

The entire block had done a great job clearing the sidewalk yesterday. After a touch of afternoon sun it was wide dry pavement along this entire stretch. Last night the city sent a plow to make their priorities clear (and still did a shit job of the road).
A residential streetscape. A plow has pushed hard packed snow onto the sidewalk, completely covering them. A driveway is impassable due to a large boulder of snow pushed into the middle of it. The road is still covered in lots of snow.

Holy fuck, I actually read the article and wonder if the author accidentally signed up for Mastodon if this is their observation of the vibes here.
But what's missing from Bluesky isn't merely Nazis, but the centre-left, the unclassifiable, and all snark unaccompanied by righteous political aims. It has no irreverent humour, no bite.

Not to discourage rabies vaccination, but the protocol depends on jurisdiction. If the animal can be located, Toronto will observe it for 10 days. We still keep our indoor cats vaccinated.
Who is the animal's owner?
• For exposures involving domestic and livestock animals, Toronto Public Health can contact the animal owner to observe its health and determine its immunization status. This information could potentially allow your patient to avoid unnecessary treatment and visits to the healthcare provider.
• Domestic animals (i.e., dog, cat, or ferret) and livestock (i.e., horse, cow, bull, steer, calf, sheep, pig or goat) can be observed for a period of 10 days and 14 days, respectively.
