Interesting new feature of windy: hyperlocal city temperature heatmaps: www.windy.com/heatmaps/syd... I haven't seen this before, but temperatures estimates seem reasonable compared with obs: www.bom.gov.au/nsw/observat...

I was frustrated a few years ago when BoM closed down the La Trobe St station after 106 years of continuous operation www.bom.gov.au/weather-serv... The rules set by the World Meteorological Org (WMO) mean they try to avoid any urban effects in observations. But that's where a lot of us live!

Yep, we would love to get more "local" but are limited to locations with a good long term record (we use ACORN-SAT from BoM: www.bom.gov.au/climate/data...). But if you have any suggestions for additional locations, send us a message and we can include them if they are in ACORN-SAT.
