Remember, the Senate held up Garland's confirmation, and once confirmed, he appointed Smith, an excellent choice, and stepped back as was appropriate. But Smith made the fatal choice to try T in Florida to take politics out of the process. Instead, bc of Judge Cannon, politics was all it was.

It's semantics. The electric car doesn't produce co2 but the input in manufacture of cars, batteries, wires, plants, machinery involved in car and electricity production are still using largely hydrocarbon based energy.The upside is making electricity is more efficient than a car burning oil

Having observed local and State legislatures in action, I can say they shouldn't be relied on at all for recognizing expertise. At least the Feds can finance it, well they used to be able to. I guess T has proved that bureaucrats do important work now that we don't have a functioning bureaucracy.

Our society grows more complex everyday requiring more regulation. The point of gov't advisors in the bureaucracy, when we have a functioning gov't not ruled by corporations, is to study and recommend regulatory rules. Justification is built into that process. We have to relearn trusting the experts
