The suggestion that it's pro-Putin propaganda is completely bonkers. Like all great war films, it's profoundly anti-war. It conveys the universal horror of the invasion, and doesn't take a side in any way. Plus Russians in the film express contempt for their state's lies and propaganda!

I watched the documentary Russians at War recently. It's powerful, revelatory. Deputy PM Chrystia Freeland hadn't seen a frame when she criticized public funding for it. TVO clearly caved to totally inappropriate political pressure in pulling it. Outraged 🧵 follows... www.cbc.ca/news/canada/...
