Someone set out homemade roasted peanuts in the break room. That, for some reason, smelled exactly like entomology glue (shellac and alcohol).

Sometimes gentrification means the paint factory next to the harbor can instead become an art museum.

The heavy fog on Sunday gave some fun picture opportunities to make up for the terrible visibility. (Nisqually NWR, 10/4/26) #photography #ECK #spiderwebs
A shot framing a single seed tuft that is curles over by a small spiderweb that is full of tiny water droplets feom the fog.

Looking from the same pool, downstream. West Coast fall colours on full display 😻
Looking downstream on the river as the canyon narrows once again. Bigleaf maples are shining gold in the bright sunshine. The trunk of a fallen tree bridges the river; downstream of it is a tall fir tree, leaning slightly over the river, setting itself off from the dense surrounding forest

I try not to use GPS if I don't need to. I'm pretty good at remembering how to get places based on landmarks, and can usually figure out how to get to new places knowing how roads are laid out, and using the sun for cardinal directions.

Paper maps. Calling someone on the phone for directions relative to a major highway. Asking for directions at a gas station. Printing out MapQuest directions. Remembering how to get places without needing a map every time.

Stargate SG-1. The first like 4 episodes are rough, but the rest of the first several seasons are great. It gets bogged down in its own Lore around 2005, and then ends on a cliffhanger after a serialized last season.

I played about 50 levels, this is my first Picross type game. It's pretty good! I like how it slowly forces you to use more/new strategies.

Do you want stories about trouble with people attending the outreach, or can conflict with other outreach organizers be included?

In his Conversation, Stefan Schuster tells us about archer fish, which hunt prey above the surface by squirting jets of water to knock them down and predict precisely where the morsel will land to intercept it before other fish arrive doi.org/10.1242/jeb....

If you don't have many-to-many relationships, a Sankey diagram is probably a good choice. Though it might be difficult to display if you have lots of mergers.

Oh! Quickly looking at University of Kansas' geology department site, it seems like it! I think the stone benches are all local rock, and the local rocks are fossil-bearing limestone and shale.

I think this is part of the reason why I prefer Nintendo games? The difficulty is usually a bit less to accommodate younger and older players than most AAA stuff.

I don't really mind difficult strategy games, but as soon as something requires twitchy reflexes or memorizing 5 patterns per enemy I'm out. Mina the Hollower was only enjoyable because I could use accessibility settings on bosses.
