For a long time I've wanted a sense of how trump has or hasn't interacted with chatbots (we know he posts a lot of slop sure). And this TIME anecdote about Grok arguably leading Trump into war is just extremely bracing

Since returning to office, Trump has marveled at AI’s capabilities. He is increasingly in thrall to the tech executives courting him. In December 2025, Elon Musk returned to the Oval Office for a clandestine meeting. Trump spent hours asking Grok, Musk’s AI chatbot, questions about his presidency and legacy, according to an official present. At the time, Trump was ordering missile strikes against Venezuelan boats he alleged were smuggling drugs into the U.S. He asked Grok how Venezuelans would react if the U.S. captured Maduro. According to the official present, the chatbot responded that Maduro was a repressive and deeply unpopular dictator and that many Venezuelans would likely celebrate his downfall. After Trump ordered the mission to seize Maduro, the following month, celebrations broke out in the streets. Trump, according to officials, came away thinking Grok was ingenious.

I think about friends whose family probably wouldn't have lasted another 20-30 min to the next closest hospital. With as many CV issues that run my family, I look at these numbers and think about the odds that this could have really affected me at a young age. I might not be where I am now. 4/x

It would have meant one extra person dying each year from preventable causes in a family in my school district. Since football is so popular in TX, that's probably one extra death per year in the community for every school with a AAA D1 class for football (TX) or AA in Indiana. 3/x

I grew up in a small town. The entire county was 40,000 people and about 18,000 of them were in the county seat with the hospital. About 10,000 people lived in my school district. If you have lived in a small town, these numbers get personal as you start to know more people in the community. 2/x

To be clear, I also realize from meeting others in different fraternities over the years that my experience wasn't typical but theoretically they should provide leadership training and mentorships to members who don't have rich parent connections and service to the college and community.

I helped start a chapter at my university. We did community service (packing food for food banks, Keep Indianapolis Beautiful, etc), had some good leadership training, and I even got a couple of scholarships. There was no hazing, but then again, as founders we had control of the experience.

Hey #Medsky and #Pulmsky check it out, another survey before the next cash grab by the ABIM, now coming for Interventional Pulmonology. As always, it's thinly veiled as a regulatory/safety measure. The AABIP already has certifications for those that want them.

Request for a survey from the ABIM regarding them probably adding $600-$1000 in fees per year for any physician doing Interventional Pulmonology.

Went with the family to see the show #SIX in theaters and it was fantastic! It's not your typical Broadway show and the music is top notch. Several families were there and all the kids were dancing in the aisles during the last number. If your kids like Hamilton but struggle w/the length, try SIX.
