with a deep breath and blast of anxiety, i finally hit "publish" on this thing today. As I feared, the comments are already following the generic pattern of "yay, he RETURNED, he is BACK" which is overwhelming, because it could very well be another year before i get my shit together.

Also Liebesgrüße aus Peking auf JEDEN Fall, King of Comedy war verdammt gut, Forbidden City Cop hat einige gute anzügliche Witze, Out of the Dark hat mich GEKILLT. Royal Tramp ist super wenn man die Referenzen kennt. Fight Back to School ist supi.

I don't recall French Bread ever needing to fire their entire dev team after launching a game but I guess you can make fun of them, Riot.

www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0Yd... This intro kickstarted everything for me and changed my brain chemistry forever. From the very first minute, I knew that Hard Boiled would change me and from then on began a journey lasting years. I wanted to see EVERYTHING this world of film had to offer.

"Cause I'm cool" Ich habe in meinem Leben selten so was bildgewaltiges und stilsichereres gesehen als Fallen Angels bei dem Wong Kar-Wai und Christopher Doyle einfach komplett entfesselt sind. Muss das dringend wieder ansehen. (Und das nicht in der verschlimmbesserten Version...)

Still thinking of @declouxj.bsky.social s stream when Albert Pyun died. It was faaaar past bedtime in Germany but just sitting here on Twitch, chatting and celebrating his movies (even though that was only online and not personal) was an unforgettable experience. Loved that dearly.

Ngl I miss my action-twitter folks. They were a true inspiration of a healthy and awesome community and discovering together movies that were buried deep in dead media was so fun. They showed me that action cinema can be absolutely different and far from one-dimensional.

Anyway back to the movies: Bullet for Hire is still solid, although the 2nd act drags but the cast is damn stellar and the action scenes are for such an unknown film a bliss. And Wicked City? Man... this is an insane piece. I LOVE all the miniature shots. It's so obvious I can't help but love it.

This account has been dead for a loooong time and after getting more into games and manga... I lost the footing in movies. TILL TODAY! I miss my Hong Kong Actionstuff so yeah. I have so many unwatched physical releases lying around and collecting dust, so I chose this kinda crazy double feature.
