Even going back to when she was in a tree, all of (checks notes) four? days ago, she was so expressive (and vocally opinionated!).
Screenshot cropped from a video (originally taken 29 Aug 2026) of Chobani Flip … Nome, the cat who recently adopted the human behind the Nome BlueSky account, looking judgmentally at her photographer (Nome).

Oh, like this? (Or, er, *not* like this….) From www.howtobeawerewolf.com/comic/werewo...
A girl (werewolf in human form) with wavy red hair is lying on a sleeping bag / camp bed inside a tent, reading or watching the screen of a cell phone held over her head in both her hands. The words ‘How to be a Werewolf’ are in the top left corner of the cropped image; this is the name of the comic strip the panel is taken from. A loud growl from off-scene (outside the tent) has startled the red-haired girl from the previous image, who has now dropped her phone on her nose. Also taken from How to be a Werewolf, a comic strip by Shawn Lenore.

Had to find the receipt. :)
A receipt showing three copies of SideQuested book 1 were pre-ordered on 15 August 2025, for release 17 March 2026.

Go get a copy for yourself, it’s a great comic!

The Chandler Nature Center (Chandler, Arizona) has very strong @tkingfisher.com naming energy. Neat place to visit!
An aquarium enclosure with a Sonoran gopher snake named ‘Bob’ inside. The enclosure includes water, faux rocks, a stick, and a hollow log for the snake to hang out underneath. An infographic above the enclosure describes the range of the snake and some basic facts.

Munch, munch, munch - gotta grow!
Two swallowtail caterpillars chewing on a moderately large dill stem. Six swallowtail caterpillars spread around a dill plant that they are steadily finishing off.

We’d planted dill, as one does, and it spread like mad, as some plants do when not many critters eat them. Walking around out back, something found the dill - black swallowtails! There are a couple of different instars (stages) of caterpillar. Neat stuff! And there’s enough dill to share.
Dill plant in a homemade wooden planter box, surrounded by a wire fence. At least two instars (life stages) of black swallowtail caterpillars are visible on different parts of the dill plant. Closeup photo of one of the larger black swallowtail caterpillars on a dill plant. Munching away, presumably. A younger instar is just visible in the lower left. At least nine black swallowtail caterpillars are visible on a dill plant, this time with the side of a house as a backdrop.

Lord help me, I clicked through… they are saying that AI is ‘already outperforming human workers.’ How? Where? By what metrics? Getting people to never want to interact with the AI again?
Snip from the article linked in the first post: “While AI agents, chatbots, and copilots are already outperforming human workers, …”

Not sure gold medal, but a few from my well-missed critters:
Two shorthair tabby cats, one dark, one orange, are stretched out asleep in a window with a wide ledge. A gray shorthair tabby cat sleeps daintily on top of a row of books. Two shorthair tabby cats are shown sleeping. The dark one is curled croissant-style on a dresser in front of a mirror; the gray one is lying on a bed, stretched out in front of the two pillows. Two different shorthair tabby cats, brothers, curled up and sleeping together in a cat bed that technically is meant for just one of them at a time.

Since I’m reading The Expanse, and this came up recently: from Leviathan’s Fall, chapter 18:
“You know what this is?” she said. “This is him making me responsible for what he does. Teresa’s right. She’s got exactly the frame I’m supposed to use. One person for a multitude. But I’m not looking to kill a multitude. That’s him. If I do what he says, I’ll be saving all the people he would kill to punish me if I didn’t.”

Amos’ laugh was almost the same timbre and cadence as Muskrat’s little bark. When he spoke, he was mimicking the soft, threatening whine of an abusive lover. “Look what you made me do, baby. Why do you have to make me so mad?”

“That’s it,” Naomi said. “I couldn’t put my finger on it, but that’s why I can’t do this. He’s holding a gun to their heads and then pretending that I’m the only one who can decide whether he pulls the trigger. That’s not a trust exercise. It’s just another threat.”
—From “Leviathan Falls” by James S.A. Corey, chapter 18.

Looks good to me!

Is it tacky to make my first post on the day before my one year join date anniversary? I’m not in the first million users, but was close. Thank you to @nome.bsky.social for the original invite. :) Maybe I should post a little more… would not be hard (ha!) now that the ice is broken, right?

Even Vox is in on this action! (Excerpt from www.vox.com/culture/2410...)
Snip from a box.com article that states:

“Prince Charles is sick, and there’s no sense that anyone has taken charge

In early February, King Charles announced…”

Here, does this help? My son loves him. :)
