Expanding Dino update: growth rate appears to be slowing possibly due to the square cube law or something. Anyway I'm not convinced he's even close to the advertised 500x size so the experiment continues! Also he's been joined by a mermaid. And I found a bigger tupperware container for them both.

Dino update, he's definitely grown a bit, checking against a probably inaccurate ruler from a child's playset he's now clocking in at just over 5 inches from top to tail. I've swapped his water and will measure again in a few more days!

My son got one of these dinosaurs that expand when immersed in water. The website says it's made of polymers which can gradually absorb up to 500 times their weight, so my 2025 plan is to test this out. If my calculations are correct it should be bigger than my house by the end of the year.
