Mistigram: "Things in the Walls" is a Lovecraftian #PETSCII illustration drawn by Bema, included in the spooky MIST1021 artpack collection and also in the #Commodore64 "The Nameless PETSCII" slideshow released the following month.
A terrified man drives a car through the woods, away from an old ancestral mansion with unwholesome sounds coming from behind the walls.

Sorry, probably should have ended that with a question mark to indicate it was a suggestion rather than an imperative.

We'll continue sharing spooky computer art in (primarily) vintage formats all month, friends, but hopefully we'll also be dropping a new, fresh collection of ... more of the same ... in about three weeks' time. If you'd like to cook something spooky up and be part of it, please look us up!
A big cyan spider lingers menacingly on a red-and-black web, next to 3-D letters spelling MIST. Drawn by Vordreque in the MIST1015 artpack collection.

Mistigram: you might feel like a turd discovering that someone else at the costume party has the same costume as the one you thought would be very unique and original on you, but doubly so when your shared costume is literally the dookie emoji!
Two stickmen chat uneasily at a costume party, both wearing poopmoji costumes.

Mistigram: these micro #pixelart portraits of Harvey Spencer Stephens as juvenile Antichrist ("It's not a child") #DamienThorn, from Richard Donner's 1976 movie #TheOmen, were drawn by @stephanrewind.bsky.social and included in the MIST1018 artpack collection released 8 years ago this month.
Front views of a haunting little boy posing in formal costume, as though he was attending a funeral at a cemetary, and also menacingly riding a tricycle in more casual wear.

Mistigram: "Hey. You look like 40 miles of rough road!" This #teletext portrait of the late #BillPaxton as vampire biker #Severen from the 1987 movie #NearDark was drawn by @horsenburger.bsky.social and included in the spooky MIST1017 artpack collection released nine years ago this month.
A badass vampire in a biker jacker has been feeding on human blood and receiving copious quantities of violence, but being functionally immortal it's all just a bit of fun horseplay even if their flesh is blackened and peeling off in places.

Fuck ChatGPT flyers. The future is broadsheets.
A crowded broadsheet with way too many fonts. It says:
Forget ChatGPT Flyers
Say it with
Broadsheets
Unlimited fonts
Stretch them
Or cram a really long sentence into one line for no good reason
No whitespace
Mix capital and lowercase
Pointing hands
(They're called manicules!)
Don't be left behind
Broadsheets are the future

Mistigram: if you haven't yet enjoyed today's dose of CONTENTover social media, @atonalosprey is here to remedy this lack with his #teletext dispensation, now conveniently packaged in capsule form! This screen was included in last month's unthemed MIST0826 artpack collection.

Though the sculpture is located in the Downtown viewed from afar in Nitron's landscape yesterday, you will note that (coincidentally) the specific stretch of North Shore Mountains depicted in the far background is virtually identical in both works and can practically be made to overlap each other.

(In real life the killer whale is composed of pixelated black and white blocks, and ironically looks quite a bit more like #ANSIart in person than this rendition indicates.)

Mistigram: in last month's unthemed MIST0826 artpack, Cthulu was explicitly looking to adapt imagery suggestive of Mist's origins in area code 604 (aka #Vancouver) and one place his search brought him was artist-author #DouglasCoupland's 2009 sculpture #DigitalOrca, installed in #CoalHarbour.
A pixelated sculpture of a killer whale seems to leap into mid-air, while the sunset lights of North Vancovuer reflect in the water behind it.

Mistigram: Nitron visited area code 604, traditional stomping grounds of Mistigris, over the summer, and was moved to draw this view of Downtown Vancouver's West End (and the North Shore mountains behind it) across False Creek from Kits Beach on a forest fire smoky day.
Beachside apartment blocks are seen from across the water, with green mountains and a hazy sky behind them.

Mistigram: this screen may not look that intrinsically political to you, but @illarterate.bsky.social has here illustrated one of the planks of #CountBinface's recent campaign against Nigel Farage in Clacton, capping the temperature and price at which croissants are served and sold.
This diagram depicts a hot, flaky croissant served at the correct temperature and price.

Mistigram: some minimalist artforms are primarily concerned with outlines, others with the use of negative space. Somewhere in between is this monochrome approach, in the vein of the #BitmapBrothers ' memorable logo, drawn in #teletext by @atonalosprey.
A forearm and hand textured with alternating black and white horizontal lines differentiate themselves starkly from a background composed entirely of alternating white and black horizontal lines.

Mistigram: #CountBinface, since making the revival of Ceefax one of his campaign pledges, has been beloved of the #teletext community, and they were prepared to endorse him this summer as he ran as the protest candidate against Nigel Farage in the parliamentary constituency of Clacton.

Mistigram: it's always a good moment for a little textmode #surrealism! This monochrome screen, "Under the Spell", was drawn by @littlebitspace.bsky.social & won 3rd place in in the Flashparty #PETSCII compo, almost a year ago. It was also just included in the unthemed MIST0826 artpack collection.

Mistigram: this pseudoreflective logo was submitted as monochrome #pixelart by @nouscentric, but Cthulu thought it could be easily adapted to textmode and given a #LiteBrite colour treatment for extra punch, so we ran it like this in last month's unthemed MIST0826 artpack collection.
in a square-ish box drawn with dotted lines are written the letters nous in dots, the s reversed. The bottom right terminus of the n runs as an underline across the o and u, then joins up with an inverted version of the logo at the same relative place to where it started. The bottom left terminus of the n joins up with the bottom of the inverted, reflected s across from it. All of the dots step through a colour gradient, against a black background.
