A floofy white kitty looking slightly disgruntled from the film Black Christmas (1974).

This is truly terrifying for two reasons: 1. We never really see him. 2. Closets are inherently scary. #BlackChristmas 🎄👁 #MoviesWithMoots 🎬🍿

And, just like Armand did twenty years ago, Val chooses Albert. He realizes that he has fucked up, and Armand and Albert, with their love and all the hell they've gone through to try to help Val, is more important than seeming "normal". So he says "This is my mother."

The moment when Val says "Just one" is, to me, the beating heart of this movie. He's spent the entire movie trying to hide Albert, hide the fact that his fathers are gay, trying to change who his family IS. But then he's found out, and pretty much asked "Which matters more, blood or love?"

You can see Dan Futterman struggling not to laugh when Robin actually fell. Hank Azaria could hide his laughing with fake-crying, but poor Dan's face was right next to the camera! #MoviesWithMoots #TheBirdcage

The fact that the things Albert says "agreeing" with Sen. Keeley are meant to exaggerate his stances/throw them back in his face and aren't supposed to be considered serious... and now most of what he says are actual conservative goals. I just... this movie, man. #MoviesWithMoots #TheBirdcage

It's so interesting (AKA sad) to me that Sen. Keeley is portrayed as this hyper-conservative, far-right hardliner, and yet, when you watch the movie in 2024, he's actually pretty bland and moderate compared to modern Republicans. #MoviesWithMoots #TheBirdcage

Val confidently saying "He wouldn't embarrass me" about Albert making a fuss is so fucking cruel, given that Val has done nothing for the past two days BUT embarrass and humiliate Albert. He wouldn't embarrass you because he loves you, Val, and you don't care. #MoviesWithMoots #TheBirdcage
