I am going to a writing workshop today about building a practice around/with (disability and other) limitations and I'm hoping it will help me with building in new structure and ideas around a writing lifestyle when I'm not trying to put out a fairly structured newsletter every lunar month.

I am indeed in Seattle! I even have a friend in Victoria but sometimes he travels to warmer climes for the winter so I'd put that destination off til when he's there--that's the main reason it's not on the list. I should figure out if he's traveling this year though (it's complicated).

“It keeps happening” may be shifting the blame unnecessarily. People keep doubling down on this bullshit because it is a convenient explanation or because they’re mean or because it’s cathartic or because their people have given up on pushing back on then or honestly I don’t even care why.

On the one hand, sure, we all are on something of a lifelong journey to unlearn racism (and other bigotries) we’ve been brought up with. On the other hand, it’s so easy to avoid slurs-and-harassment type antisemitism (antiziganism anti-Arab assholery etc etc) and yet it keeps happening. It sucks

I am thinking about doing a trip maybe to a city (Vancouver, BC? Portland, OR?) instead of a cabin in Novemberish, maybe early December 🤔 I do go to Portland a lot so maybe I should go see Vancouver instead? But Portland is easy and fun which is why it’s my default…but….idk

It’s quite rainy. I went to coffee but while the patio has an overhang it’s not perfect coverage, so a bunch of my coffee will probably be had while walking home.
