Went to Anishinaabemowin classes in-person in my community for three hours today. It was so good. We talked about our families and our community’s history, how to encourage new speakers, what we want to do for our language moving forward, what we want to learn together this year. ❤️

Some of my favourite paintings from this past year.

my Christmas tree in the corner of my living room, in front of some photos and a Norval Morrisseau painting. I saw my diploma for the first time yesterday! I didn’t attend my graduation in 2018 because I was at a language/medicine camp instead, and then I decided to work as an artist so didn’t really need the CYC diploma. I need it now though because I’m in school to be an Anishinaabemowin teacher!
