When an AI summarizes a text, it is not "reading," in any way close to what happens with humans. It is more accurate to call an AI summary a "compression." Compression of huge bodies of text can be very useful, but I think it's necessary to hold on to the distinction between compression and summary.

PDF-Xchange Editor is my current fav. Does a bunch of stuff that Acrobat doesn’t do at all or no longer does. Extremely customizable interface, can create infinite custom presets for tools. you can actually change case of bookmark titles, AND export bookmarks (great for appellate appendix index!)

Unsolicited writing advice, no. 8260: Whatever genre you write, read folklore. Folklore exists because at some point, people cared so much about a certain thing that they put it into a story, and passed it down the centuries in order to keep it alive. That deserves attention.
