A good boy's story of adventures and treasure-seeking on Amherst Island in the early 1960s. It recalls the Hardy Boys mysteries I read as a child, and that was worth four stars. The story never gets mired down in sappiness and as Alex' father is a Professor, the reader even gets taught a few things!

Another gem from New Brunswick's @galleon-books.bsky.social. A great little novella whose true value (for me) lies in the witty repartee amongst the characters running a funeral home (always good for humerous material) and their efforts to thwart a takeover of their property for development.

I received this book from @llpmtl.bsky.social in exchange for a review. As far as good short story collections go, this was a 5-star read for me. "Ways to Hold a Gun" was just one outstanding example. Recommended for lovers of literary #shortfiction.
