We are the majority of long term real Magic players. The ones who have stuck for years, and will probably stay when all the people who come from UB leave Out of every 10 players who first buy from a UB set, 9 are no longer playing one year later. Data proves it

Even standard feels faster than what Modern was pre-MH1. If anything it resembles Yugioh more than actual Magic And this is all without mentioning the big issue of UB displacía and ruining the flavor of cards and the MtG multiverse as a whole

I hate both price hikes and they absolutely shouldn't exist but these sets are often the first set for new players which makes it worse And as a Standard and Pioneer player it has absolutely ramped up, most format staples are outshined, former modern powerhouses can't make it in standard (Bob, goyf)

UB is a reflection of and an accelerant to both anti consimer practices (UB license markups vs regular product, surge prizing, fomo, appealing to scalpers) and powercreep (making UB cards stronger then refusing to ban them, making 6+ standard sets a year)

And by adjacent sets I mean: AFR (come on, this is UB, stop pretending it isn't) and ARB (because Maro likes to use it to wrongly justify that "UB has always been part of Magic"). I hate that collectors and non-core fans are the prime market to cater to now, vs lifelong fans of the MTG universe.
