Lightly chilled take: I like it. I have a small stockpile of the zero sugar variety because there's no way it has staying power. But I really like sparkling tea and this tastes like those tea cans (Nestea?) you used to find in vending machines in the 90s except sparkly.

I went to see it at midnight on opening night. The front row was taken up by a gaggle of bros who brought novelty shop canned snakes, and when the appropriate line was delivered they released the snakes into the theater. It was excellent.

My 6yo asked me yesterday what philosophy is and as much as I love this description, it probably would’ve raised more questions than it answered (typical of philosophy, tbh)

David Hills (who teaches at Stanford) describes philosophy as “the ungainly attempt to tackle questions that come naturally to children, using methods that come naturally to lawyers.”

It is difficult to practice doing the right thing here, because I generally don't have multiple spotters to call on and there are only so many times per week I can go heavy. (My preferred meet strategy is simply to not miss attempts, but, well.) But clearly I need to practice failing more.

Doubly frustrating because I've been rehabbing a shoulder injury and this is my first competition since last summer; if I want to go to nationals this year I'm running out of chances to qualify (there are no more nearby meets before the cutoff and not many possible dates).

Dumping the bar is what I would usually do in the gym (where I will pretty much never have multiple spotters) but at a meet with spotters it is a safety issue and a meet DQ, not just a missed attempt. And an error I've never made before!
