mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 12/06/2026Just got asked by a 4yo in my son's daycare if I have a baby in my tummy. Guess it's time to actually try losing weight then. 000
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 19/04/2026If the Sydney show is anything to go by, you're in for a good time. 110
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 13/04/2026Very fair. Hope these dates are relatively gentle on you. And thank you! 010
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 13/04/2026Ticked off a bucket list band seeing @themountaingoats.bsky.social in Sydney tonight. Happy days. First standing gig in too many years though, and now my feet are dead. 110
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 17/01/2026Did I make a special trip to a particular store of Coles just to get a specific variety of M&S tea? Yes. Yes I did. Man, I miss M&S. Which is maybe the most middle aged thing I've ever said. 000

mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 06/12/2025My 3yo has been into Spidey and His Amazing Friends for the past few months, but is finally letting me put in Spider-Verse. I'm so excited. 100
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 06/12/2025Of course power is lost on the hottest evening in forever. Fingers crossed the good folks at Ausgrid are able to restore before too long. 100
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 01/12/2025100%. Push through, lean on friends, you'll get there. 010
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 01/12/2025So fun fact, I had my blood pressure taken on settlement day whilst at work, and they were very close to sending me to hospital there and then. It gets more fun once things are moved in. 120
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 11/11/2025Huge news, congrats. I bought for the first time this year, and have never been so stressed, but it's so been worth it. Enjoy! 130
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 05/11/2025Currently reading Alchemised by SenLinYu. Didn’t realise its background when I bought it (though perhaps should have guessed). Hate to say it but enjoying it far more than expected. Damn too long though. 000
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 05/11/2025Ahaha, you are sorely mistaken, friend! I'm actually recovered now, but the picture made my workmates genuinely concerned for my well-being 😅 000
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 05/11/2025Can't relate, best I can do is look utterly wrecked. Would share but I don't think anyone wants that tbh. 110
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 13/10/2025Respectfully.media.tenor.coma cartoon character is standing next to a table in a room and looking at something .ALT: a cartoon character is standing next to a table in a room and looking at something . 010
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 24/09/2025100% this. Started audiobook two of a two book series today, completely different narrator. Main character now has a remarkably different accent. Very jarring. 120
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 19/09/2025My 3yo just exclaimed, "My legs do have bones." He seemed pretty annoyed about it. That's it. That's the whole message. 000
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 12/09/2025(Obviously there are lots of people who have read it, but you get my point.) 010
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 12/09/2025I can understand that. I really got into the world building of it all, for sure - it feels like there are many more stories to tell (which, iirc, is/was her intent?) Nice to have someone else who's read it either way 😊 110
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 12/09/2025Piranesi was lovely, and I thoroughly appreciated it being a much shorter read too. I'm not normally one for huge books. 110
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 12/09/2025Yes to the fairy character! Also loved the actual powerful magician who barely makes an appearance, but his history and presence is felt throughout. The footnotes...I definitely skimmed at times. But I liked that they were mostly supplemental. Bought a copy for my mum after finishing 😅 110
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 12/09/2025I actually read it earlier this year, almost immediately followed by Piranesi. Absolute tome of a book but I enjoyed it a lot in honesty. 110
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 06/09/2025I have been dragged to a party for a 4yo at 9.30 at an indoor trampoline/play zone. I've had four hours of sleep. It is a sensory nightmare. 000
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 12/08/2025This feels like it should be easily achievable, yet the good ones I can think of do seem to be already married/partnered up. And in NSW. A conundrum. 010
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 04/08/2025Aaah okay - thank you! That was more straightforward than I remembered. As someone who (over)uses semicolons though, I don't know how I feel about that being okay. 110
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 04/08/2025Yeah, so the crashing ended up being an issue with my PS5. Couldn't uncorrupt my file, but was able to play start to finish without any repeated issues. Veilguard is unfairly maligned. Not the best DA game, but still a good amount of fun. 000
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 04/08/2025Well worth a sub for word nerds. That said, I need elaboration on the comma splice situation. Largely because, for whatever reason, I struggle to maintain a good understanding of comma splices... 231
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 11/07/2025Very soft, yes. We did have a legitimate 7° day the other week though. Felt like a real winter day, it was great! 110
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 11/07/2025I actually thought I had it listed but that must be the old place - sorry. Regardless, I've been in NSW since 2020. 110
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 11/07/2025It does seem to be the consensus, yes. A 30° day over here is still hot but definitely more tolerable than the UK. They do complain it's cold at 19° though, and I'll never get used to that. 110

mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 02/05/2025Not surprised at that generally, but a little surprised WA is the worst. A little terrifying knowing how bad things are on the east coast. 110
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 16/04/2025Coughed on the way in to pick up my son from daycare, and heard him say, "Oh, that sounds like daddy!". Might be time to quit smoking, folks. 010
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 14/04/2025My wife and I had lunch at a lakeside the other day, and I saw four congregating. It was a big day for me. 110
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 15/03/2025Alas, I can't find a way to fix it, and I can't progress either. Not often I've had a game breaking bug. Haven't got the energy to put another 30hrs into Veilguard for now. Someone lmk if another patch comes out? 000
mimsy @mimsyboojum.bsky.social · 14/03/2025I've genuinely really been enjoying Veilguard over the past couple of weeks, but the bugs are getting silly. Regularly experiencing one which just hard crashes my PS5, but have just found one which changes my class type entirely. Appears to be permanent. Would hate to quit here but may have to. 100
