What's it gonna take for the Democrats in Senate and House to finally grow a spine? How much worse does it have to get?

No, I am not drinking on the job. This is the only way I can keep Mr Shiva Kitty from sitting on my computer while I'm working. (I only allow him to do so during Zoom meetings.) #TuxedoCatsOfBsky #WFHstruggles

Shiva sulks upon realizing a line of wine bottles has formed a wall between him and my laptop and monitor.

Excerpt from Music Heals, a brief & meaningful essay by my dear friend & teacher @jovinosantosneto.bsky.social "Whether you are contemplating motion or rest as our lives unfold, please know that Music is your best source of Truth, Justice and Beauty." Read why: open.substack.com/pub/jovino/p...

So, IBM not only shuts down their DEI research team, they delete their decades of collected data on the subject. Don't be surprised by this: this is the same IBM who supported the Nazis, back in the day.

Oops, created/posted this 2 wks ago on IG; meant to share here as well. Given that Google & most others still take it in keister for Felon47, it is sadly still relevant. (Granted, Mayans, Northern gulf tribes & other pre-col non-Aztecan ppl likely also had their own names for this body of water.)

Map of Gulf of Mexico, with both Gulf of Mexico and Gulf of America labels crossed out. The names are surrounded by this text: "Um, actually… Chalchiuhtlicueyecatl (Mexica Nahuatl for "House of Chalchiuhtlicue," Chalchiuhtlicue being the deity of the seas)."

Brilliant idea @anildash.com. Heck, I'd build the deck myself. PowerPoint Kills Fascists.

@governor.ca.gov I appreciate the intension & strongly recommend offering a small selection w/in core categories, not just the 1. A single topic will alienate ppl who don't relate to it & you'll lose them. You'll get better engagement w/1 topic each re: econ, civil rights, housing, healthcare & edu.

The poise and calm Zelensky demonstrated was admirable — inspiring, even. Makes me wonder how much his years of not allowing hecklers at the comedy clubs get in his craw may have helped him though this.

Good interview with Ruth Ben-Ghiat. She plainly explains why the coup — which this is — is unlike any other before it, and why it has been so very quick and effective. Also talk about the roles Felon47* and Musk play — the hows and whys. 1/ …

Given we’re amidst a political apocalypse, perhaps it time for @bsky.app to add a frowny face or a thumbs down or something of the sort, eh? A heart doesn't quite fit when I'm appreciating a post reporting of yet another action by the current administration attacking DEI programs, trans people, etc.

Dear Mexico, I am as flabbergasted as you are. I also need to figure out how to excise myself from all things Google, after decades of use. Nearly all my digital documents, photos, email, contacts' info, Android phone, etc., etc.… Please, somebody invent an app to make this less a Sisyphean task!

Back home and wiped out from a long day at the veterinary ER with my tuxie boi, Shiva. Hoping he'll be ok one the antibiotics take effect. His tweedy sister, Sita, makes for a good teddy bear. Kitty snores are cute.

Closeup of Mr Shiva Kitty on the couch, wedged between me and his sister, Sita. Both of them are fast asleep.

The neighborhood peahen. Yet another reason why Vallejo is such a cool place to live.

Viewed through a window, a large peahen stands atop the wood fence alongside Mimi's house. Balls plants peak over from the other side of the fence. In the background, the sun is beginning to set behind a large redwood tree.

Watch out for fake Mrs Betty Bowers: 1. The real MBB: @mrsbettybowers.bsky.social 2. The imposter: @mrsbettybowersi.bsky.social — note the lowercase i in "bowersi" They copied some of MBB's posts to look legit, but they just sent me a DM that is clearly not legit. Please report the account. Thx.
