These two have a series of several games where they go from enemies to rivals to friends back to rivals then have a brief but palpable stint of romantic tension then friends again

Can try Epithet Erased. Incredibly charming audiobook narration and deals with venturing into a candy-filled dreamland to save their friend. The audiobook follows on from a series of not-quite animated youtube series. But functions just as well stand alone First few chapter youtu.be/dszZOpKVLO4?...

Hoping my Like on this post goes even a small way toward funding some new anal beads or a fleshlight replica of Vivi's pussy for her.... I dunno what kind of sex toys she likes. Hmm, guess I can just ask, putting it on the Draw Q&A pile. Hey, Vega, what kind of sex toys are your favorite?

Kinda a small change in the grand scheme of things. But so many ideas around if I ever decided to do something with Dwarfs and Fantasy, rather than sticking mostly to the real world (except with mecha and robots)

Post-Apoc Earth: After about a century of being forced to live in underground cities after an asteroid impact, cremation rather than burial has become the standard. Graveyard plots were at a premium. Rites and rituals are otherwise mostly the same according to the individual’s tradition/religion.

Maybe this hypothetical TTRPG can be about metaphorically (possibly literally) Eating God or some such.

How about Miss Kobayashi's Dragon Maid? Takes place in modern Japan mostly but has about everything else as a slice-of-life manga. Another personal favorite is Sleepy Princess. About a Princess who has been kidnapped by the Demon Lord but is mostly interested in getting a good night's sleep.

Mandrakes offering hybrid kidnapping-daycare services. No fuzz while you negotiate their release with your rival Archon. The longer your rival takes to strike a deal the more eldritch horror-y their trueborn kid becomes.

Both examples are more on the social intrigue side of things, but there are ways of integrating this deeper into the world/setting itself I feel. Black Crusade would be a more combat-focused example. Favor with the Chaos Gods and Corruption is linked with the PCs trying to stay one step ahead.

Others have a more inexorable walk towards insanity like a Lovecraft TTRPG I can’t remember the name of. There are a few ways to recover, but in a one step forward three steps back kinda deal. Whatever victory there is at the end, it’s probably pyrrhic.

Like I think World of Darkness handles something like this decently well, whatever supernatural thing you’ve become you are almost always struggling to remain human or to re-remember your humanity. It’s not one thing that ends you, it’s many small and large decisions you make or are forced to make.

Not sure if there’s a system for increasing Hunter Corruption outside of death. I can see respawning being one of the ways the mental strain ticks up, but if just that it feels disconnected.

Still can't get past that one episode with the dog. Made me nope out as hard as I could. Great until that point, interesting plot, characters, and worldbuilding. Probably great after, too. But no. Just no.

The Catholic Church doesn’t offer gender-affirming care to trans people in their hospitals. They consider homosexuality to be against nature. They want to deny women the right to an abortion. So many Americans who’d rake Rowlings over the coals over transphobia still praise *their* American Pope.

Starting the spoopy season with the #ResidentEvil movie. So far, only two hours to go, managed to avoid any spoilers. All I have heard is that it's 1) Good, 2) Watching feels like seeing someone play a survival horror for the first time. Sounds awesome in other words.

Had my start with Escha & Logy. The tone is so much more somber throughout for the Dusk trilogy. But you feel hope anyway because they do. Remember it was a shock when I went into the other Atelier games. Stories and characters are still interesting and engaging, but very different emphasis. xD
