I have a hard time understanding some reviews of Minecraft Dungeons 2: They seem to forget who this game is targeted to. My 15 & 11 yo kids are absolutely *loving* this game. It's everything they were hoping for...

Never met a gamer boycott that couldn't be defeated by a good enough video game.

Capitalism isn't a democracy. Spending money isn't voting. Every time we repeat this, we forget where we actually derive power: not by being a naughty little consumer who won't consume, but by getting loud, speaking out, direct action, and making the people who stand to benefit miserable.

While working class pressure continues to rise, it's clear that the current US administration is placing the final bricks on top of a system that is more focused on defending elite interests over renewing its social foundations. It's moving backwards in that regard, while looting moves forward.

If "AI" was as valuable as they say it is, they wouldn't be selling it to you. They'd be using it themselves in secret to make the next Minecraft, the next Avatar, the next Hello Kitty and then they'd sell that to you. They're trying to sell you a sick goose, while pretending it lays golden eggs.

One of my very favorite lines from The Expanse. Fred - What did you do? Holden - There was a button. I pushed it. Fred - Jesus Christ! That's really how you go through life, isn't it? The series started as a roleplaying game. It still feels like the best parts of a roleplaying game.

People have been arguing "the OSR is dead" or "the OSR is full of bigots/racists/chuds" for at least a decade. The situation has not changed in this time. There are problematic people who write/play OSR games. There are also minorities and progressives who write/play OSR games.

Fun fact: If someone quotes a post of yours in a way that is unwelcome (as is commonplace on Twitter/X) there is a tool to combat the unwanted attention. Simply click the three dot menu on the quote post & click "Detach quote". This removes your post from their quote post. Useful to know, do share!

Has anyone good OSR/Indi RPGs online shops to suggest in continental Europe? There aren't many of them. Used to shop at UK sites, but Brexit has forced majors import fees -- and it's even more expensive coming from the US. I know sphaerenmeisters-spiele.de and they're good, but I'll take any tip!
