Tackling week 2 of #SongxiaoSeptember2026 with the crossover AU and Card Captor Xiao Xingchen! ✨️

A colored pencil drawing of Xiao Xingchen and Song Lan in the style of Card Captor Sakura, in shades of blues and purple. XXC is dressed as Sakura and SL is dressed as Shaolan, but XXC wand and card show a moon instead of a star, and SL jacket shows a snowflake instead of a pair of wings.

My contribution to #SongXiaoSeptember2026! Week 4 prompts: Moonlight | Sleep | Fault/Forgiveness 🔞 Explicit 💤 Somnophilia ‼️ Mildly Dubious Consent 🍆 Top SL/Bottom XXC 🔗 ⬇️

Screenshot of the AO3 fic "Midnight in September" by Green_Riot

Summary:

Xiao Xingchen reaches out, fingers brushing the back of Song Zichen's hand. It feels good, too, and he thinks about how, just a few weeks ago, these hands wouldn't touch another person. Is it alright that Xiao Xingchen is touching him now, like this? Would Song Zichen mind while he's asleep? An inner voice cautions against taking too many liberties and overstepping the boundaries of Song Zichen's trust. What if he wakes up and decides to no longer allow Xiao Xingchen to touch him at all?

There's some stronger, deeper compulsion within Xiao Xingchen that drives him to continue. It urges him to slowly pull down the covers. I coaxes him into untying the sash holding Song Zichen's sleep robe closed, and when it falls open, Xiao Xingchen quickly pushes his hands inside, resting his hands against warm skin. Song Zichen's breathing freezes on an inhale, and Xiao Xingchen stops moving, afraid he's woken him, but with a long sigh, Song Zichen resumes his deep cyclical breaths.

What's a Daoist to do when he can't sleep at night?

Not a request, but in the same style! A little doodle for the horror AU prompt for #songxiaoseptember2026! Xiao Xingchen's Shuanghua has surely been replaced by a human spine... and Song Lan's lantern is said to carry the spirit of a young girl. #songxiao #mdzs

A blue-tinted doodle of Song Lan and Xiao Xingchen as creatures. Song Lan's mouth is sewn shut, and he stands a bit slanted, with both arms stiffly out. He is decorated in various trinkets and jewels and is carrying a lantern. Xiao Xingchen looks about the same as his regular counterpart, but he carries his own head in his hands rather than having it attached to his neck. They are looking at each other and blushing slightly. There is a heart above Xiao Xingchen, who is smiling, and a ghostly figure resembling a shrieking girl inside Song Lan's lantern.

A dark blue-tinted drawing of Fierce Corpse Song Lan and Xiao Xingchen. Song Lan is roaring, with black blood pouring down his chin from his severed tongue. Xiao Xingchen is hugging him from behind and holding him back, his blindfold deep red from crying, as blood trickles down his cheeks. He appears to be pleading for Song Lan to stop. The background is white and pale grey, with ashen flecks flying around.

Morning/Beginnings/Canon Divergence AU Do you think that, had they been raised together in the same sect, they would have still wanted to make their own sect to welcome like-minded people? (I'd like to believe they would ^^) #SongxiaoSeptember2026 #MDZS #SongXiao

A colored pencil drawing of young teen Song Lan and Xiao Xingchen on a swing. Song Lan is sitting primly, holding tight onto the ropes, his hair in a tight bun. Xiao Xingchen is halfway standing, leaning back as he holds onto the ropes to move the swing faster. They both wear ombre clothes - white to blue/grey signaling they are in the same sect. Above them, a few branches of a tree with pink flowers rains petals.

#songxiaoseptember2026 week 2: errands! helping people in small ways is just as important as grand sweeping gestures #songxiao #MDZS

A light illustration of Song Lan and Xiao Xingchen walking through town while assisting an elderly woman with her shopping. She is holding onto both of their arms. Xiao Xingchen is delighted and making conversation with the woman, who is dressed in green robes. He has a woven basket on his back. Song Lan looks befuddled and a little uncomfortable, but he all the same carries a basket full of produce in both his hands.

A little thing for #songxiaoseptember2026's week 2 crossover prompt that also doubles as request 165: Song Lan telling Xiao Xingchen that he's the love of his life! Or trying to, anyway! Part of the Moshang baby AU :) #Songxiao

A blue tinted drawing of a half-demon Song Lan and a bird demon Xiao Xingchen sitting on a stone bench. Song Lan is nervously trying to say something to Xiao Xingchen, his hands clasped. The two are blushing. Hiding poorly in a bush, Mobei-jun and Shang Qinghua observe, looking concerned or annoyed.

day 7 of #songxueweek2026: free day! going back to my roots and drawing smth set in an 80s AU i have with bestie @millennium-glow.bsky.social ! Song Lan is a bartender and Xue Yang is a hitman who forgets Song Lan's his target every time they're together #songxue #songlan #xueyang #宋岚 #薛洋

A neon-lit intimate scene of Xue Yang and Song Lan nude on a bed, with Song Lan on top and Xue Yang on the bottom, smiling at each other. Xue Yang is holding the back of Song Lan's head, as well as his thigh. His body is covered in scars. He's also visibly aroused! The style is simple.
The blurred background depicts a bedroom with a large window, a bean bag, a few plants, a shelf, a wardrobe, and a computer on a desk with a chair. The computer is glowing blue. The color palette is predominantly pink.

A simple drawing of Xiao Xingchen, Xue Yang and A-Qing. Xue Yang and A-Qing are flanking Xiao Xingchen, who has his hands on their shoulders. Even though the two are enjoying candy, they look a bit menacing, prompting Xiao Xingchen to address them as his 'hired killers'.

A simple drawing of A-Qing jumping onto Xue Yang's shoulders and pointing off into the distance. Xue Yang is shocked, but grabs her all the same. A-Qing has a speech bubble that reads 'Take me to the market or else!'

He is wearing two layered black t-shirts and a stained white apron. Song Lan is utterly flustered as he reaches for the bowl, one hand behind his back. He is wearing a suit jacket and a turtleneck.

songxue week day 2: betrayal/trust still riding the brainwave of the one fic i wrote a while back #songxue #songxueweek2026 #songlan #xueyang #宋岚 #薛洋

A half-body drawing of Song Lan (as a fierce corpse) and Xue Yang. Song Lan has his arms around Xue Yang, and is guiding him into stabbing himself with his sword, Fuxue. The blade is concealed by their billowing sleeves, but slight flecks of blood denote that there has been contact. In their position, the sword would run them both through. Both their hair is down. Song Lan's expression is neutral, but Xue Yang is smiling with his eyes closed, although his brow is furrowed.

There are slight wisps of mist or smoke around them.

The two are laying in vertically opposite directions, yet are curling slightly into each other. Song Lan is holding his fuchen and a talisman, which is glowing blue like his eye. Xue Yang is holding half of the Yin Tiger Tally, which is glowing red like his eye. Beside him are a few wrapped candies. Song Lan looks serious, while Xue Yang is smiling.
