Can recommend meeting another local author for coffee, cake, and lots of discussion about writing and publishing. Sara's work is awesome! 5 stars. No notes. @sara_fox_author

And it’s a hat trick! Today Yours became the third national magazine to feature an article about me finding Mum’s diaries and ‘According to Eve’, the book that was the outcome. I even made the cover (the tiny pic above Dawn French’s head 😁)

Out today (UK) In Take a Break monthly, you can read how I met Fred’s son, and more about Mum and Fred’s reunion (middle pic) and the heartache that followed. Picture top left is Mum and I on a cruise shortly before she died. Bless you, Mum.

Today is the last day that According to Eve is free in the UK, so please do take advantage, even if it's only to look at the glorious pics! (although the love story between the lines will break your heart too)

I may have got carried away making bunches of greenery for a Xmas fair tomorrow. I really hope I don’t have to bring them all home again! 🫤

Milla Reed @millareed.bsky.social · 26/11/2025

If you need an Xmas present for a grannie, great Aunt or your lovely elderly neighbour, please consider According to Eve. They're so hard to buy for, but most of them love a slice of nostalgia :-)

This ol’ jug looked tired so I gave him a red and green makeover. It’s the #decoupage version of wearing a Xmas jumper. 😁

A lady from Hong Kong wanted to tell me how interesting she found 'According to Eve' as someone who hadn't been raised here. She doesn't use Amazon. By the time my hair was done, she had written this. How lovely! #accordingtoeve #1950s #history #kent #rochester #chatham #gillingham #medway

Do you want to see my latest review? It’s possibly a tad over the top. Of course you do, you might want to buy According to Eve for your Granny. She’s so hard to buy for, it’d be an easy win. 😁

Woke up to find the According to Eve is riding high in the charts again at no 3. maybe one day she'll make it to the top spot! A massive thank you to everyone who bought it over the weekend 🙂 #medway #rochester #chatham #gillingham #1950s #localhistory #kent

There's an interview about finding Mum's diaries/According to Eve going out on BBC Radio Oxford at 11.40am on Easter Monday. It includes more details about what happened between Eve and Fred that I've discovered since writing the book. I'd love it if someone listened! :-)

In According to Eve, it's not exactly clear why Eve and Fred broke up. In this radio interview (from BBC Radio Oxford) you'll discover what I've learnt since. It's being repeated on Easter Monday. drive.google.com/file/d/1OxUQ... #medway #rochester #chatham #gillingham #1950s

Remember the oldest pic in According to Eve from 1947? It's of a gang of 15 yr olds taken in Rochester Castle Gardens. It's the oldest pic we have of Eve (on the left) with Fred (3rd from the right - didn't he grow up handsomely?). A guy has colourised it - fab job! #rochester #medway #kent #1950s

Seems legit. So are we spelling it suppot or suport? And don’t forget to put an extra i in busiiness, you never know when you might need it.

The flash resort we’re in had fixed expensive Valentines meals in all its restaurants tonight. Cheapest was $79 with limited veggie options so we went rogue and raided the supermarket!
