milkteas @milkteas.bsky.social · 05/03/2025sure, the project's prospects weren't great, for various reasons, but ultimately, the only reason it got taken down was bc it got flagged by wotc copyright. comparatively speaking, the whole lot of irate event organizers couldn't do much except raise awareness in the fandom space 010
milkteas @milkteas.bsky.social · 05/03/2025idk i feel like anon is crying to the wrong person. try taking it up with wotc and see how well that goes 110

milkteas @milkteas.bsky.social · 11/02/2025yeah ok not anymore. unfortunately even govt collapse doesn't exempt us from tax collection 😔 020
milkteas @milkteas.bsky.social · 11/02/2025certain companies can't profit off of financially illiterate people if the govt just tells everyone what they owe in taxes so they lobby to keep people in the dark/dependent yay capitalism 110

Reposted by milkteassenpi 🔞 @spankmaths.bsky.social · 02/01/2025said it once and i'll say it again. we as a society do NOT need ai generated images or ai chatbots to engage with our faves. if you're down bad enough for a character they will start beaming dialogue directly into your head and you will be able to hear it in their voice 2944041911
milkteas @milkteas.bsky.social · 02/01/202510 is a worthy goal too! any number of books read is good 💕 best of luck (to both of us, i'm def gonna need it 😭) on the reading goal 💪 010

milkteas @milkteas.bsky.social · 28/12/2024sure if the project didn't break even and no one got stuff out of it, that would suck. but that's still infinitely better than charging them above production price(!!?) for a product that couldn't exist without their work. 010
milkteas @milkteas.bsky.social · 28/12/2024at this point i think they've proven that they don't actually have experience. i can respect that everyone has to start somewhere. it's simply unacceptable that it's at the cost of the contributors who dedicated their efforts to the project. 120
milkteas @milkteas.bsky.social · 28/12/2024and this is patently untrue because the contributors already HAVE had to pay money out of pocket (see the bg3tarot kickstarter) 0100
milkteas @milkteas.bsky.social · 28/12/2024no one is arguing about the prod team being compensated for their labor. anyone who's modded a zine can tell you it's a lot of—sometimes thankless—work. the joy is in creating a project by/for the community & expressing love and passion for the work. it should NEVER come at the contributors' expense 1236
milkteas @milkteas.bsky.social · 28/12/2024as the team with, allegedly, the experience and transferrable skills, THEY should know better. so either they're disrespecting their artists because they do not, in fact, know better, or it's intentional exploitation. 😒 210
Reposted by milkteasquorniya @quorniya.bsky.social · 28/12/2024Any business model where you build in 15% profit for your zine business but charge contributors for their own copies (from which you also make profit) is a really shitty model given that it’s the contributors’ content that makes fandom projects possible in the first place. 14215
milkteas @milkteas.bsky.social · 28/12/2024they're offering their time and labor and expertise to the project 🥺 which the contributors apparently aren't 1213
milkteas @milkteas.bsky.social · 28/12/2024if the rest of the team is inexperienced, shouldn't the responsibility fall on the experienced members of the team to stand up for the contributors? they shouldn't be paying above prod price to obtain a copy of their own work. that's antithetical to zine culture & blatant exploitation of their labor 0151
milkteas @milkteas.bsky.social · 05/12/2024conceptualize the project 🥺 what really gets me is that the 20% package includes discord setup services for the project with 5 discord mods 110
milkteas @milkteas.bsky.social · 05/12/2024they literally have exclusively general, socmed, and discord mod titles. and a head mod. and the finance/prod team. so whatever other jobs they do aren't mentioned on the carrd 100
milkteas @milkteas.bsky.social · 05/12/2024it's a zine (sorry, fan project bc this is a hardcover book 🙄) & considering how active those servers are, 5+ people just on discord moderating duty... lmao okay but someone(s) out of the 11 general/socmed/discord mods also has to be doing gfx format, even if it's not listed on the carrd? 100
milkteas @milkteas.bsky.social · 05/12/202413 mods is crazy considering that outside of the two-person production team, the only roles are general, social media, and discord mods lol 100
