Exactly, I suspect Man City are using the High Court threats as leverage for a deal. Hard to know which way it'll go, because on one hand most of the owners are all connected billionaire businessmen, who understand negotiation, on the other hand, fans aren't customers, we're tribal, we remember.

I think it's highly unlikely they'll win the appeal *but* there is a strong possibility they'd be able to delay it further by taking it to the high court. That would take us past the end of the season, and possibly into 2028.

I think part of it is, that we trust our defenders 1 on 1 so we do give the opposition more 'chances', but that should mean we get more control and more chances ourselves just because of numbers at the other end, but that's not happening at the moment.

I don't think either side has done enough to score, but if Leeds have definitely done more than us.

Agreed. Also, in reality, both Barnes and to a lesser extent Wright did both have their Englishness questioned. But as you say, the point is that it was wrong then, is wrong now, and any move to return to that era should be stamped out, which is where Kemi was coming from.

Their appeal rests on the claim that the 'top up' money came from the Govt, not the owner, (yeah, they're the same thing but hey). The easy solution from 2018 would have been to do that. I don't quite understand why they didn't just do that pre-2018.

There was cherry picking by the US govt. IE they'd use 1 'good' day rather than a much more 'average' week, but the overall trend is upwards. I've seen some theories explaing why the Iranians are allowing this in the short term, but fingers crossed we can get back on track ASAP.
