Guess who’s watched this show way too many times?

They do crave and desire independence, but the nature of their social upbringing can make a daily conflict with their needs to please and their needs to live.

All dolls struggle with autonomy, because when they learn to stand on their own feet, they realize the pain that’s inflicted from that point onwards to them, would be themselves.

China dolls, and plastic dolls are less durable than the common ragged folk. More likely to sit on the sidelines, and do only the bare minimum to keep up the ruse that everything is alright.

Ragdolls, Poppets, and other soft fabric toys are the ones most versed to take on all kinds of damage, and keep on walking. Just shove the stuffing back in, you can staple those wounds shut if you really need too, no one will notice. Just a nother hitch in the skin.

This survival tactic is common place if you know where to look. They play off their company in tow, and if they make a social fumble, they remember it deeply. No place for anything less than perfection- ever.

Dolls suffer in silence. They take every nudge and poke and prod with external ease most of the time, but their insides suffer for it. Born from situations with high stress at young ages, they learned to obey to get by.

Complience is not resistance. You have to fight what is being shoveled down your throat. They try to give us a story, when we already know the facts. The facts are what matter. The story is only to inspire, or in Diggers case, dilute. Shift the focus. Blah. Blah. Blah.

Compliance is not resistance.

It took the anger and sadness of everyone involved to create such a dividing film. Much for the times and the way we feel living in our day to day lives. I left that theater afraid. But I refuse to sit idly by paralyzed with fear. If you believe in something, fight for it.

I cried, sobbed, wanted to scream at the ending because I knew going into this film that it was trying to say something, but not just out of anger. I think theres sadness. Sadness they knew this movie would flop. That media would target it, that attention spans and finances would not comeback 2them

My personal take is I think theres a point missing. Sure, people can leave theaters because they felt cheated and lied too, but when you watch a trailer, let alone a film you were interested in seeing in the first place, it’s important to take into consideration why you’d react in such a manner.

For Tom Cruz. Which is also a huge reason people refuse to see the movie. Now, based on the box office numbers it’s safe to say no one made money back from this film. But I also don’t think that’s the point. @anonameis.bsky.social said this felt like even the creators were angry they got to make it.

America, the world is in a dark place right now. People who see this trailer either go because of word of mouth via recommendation, the reason I went to see it; they go because they liked the trailer and the idea of a billionaire satire with nukes and lier reveals and comedy; or…

And their words. My favorite character and actor in this film was not Tom Cruiz because of it. That honor goes to Riz Ahmad, who sold his performance. The trailer to this film, is not the entirety of the film. It’s barely 15-20 percent. And because of that I think is why people don’t like it.

The twist of the narratives it takes you through are what keeps you engaged/ guessing. Each character you can see a real time life parallel to and yet more. The narrative never allows us to see inside any characters head and gives the audience the reigns on how to judge them based off their actions…

I just finished watching Digger in theaters and I sobbed. There was basically no one, NO ONE there in those seats and I feel like that’s a disservice yet intended at the exact same time. It was a masterpiece, a tragedy, a satire, a comedy, but above all else a warning. Go watch it.

Inktober Day 5 - Smack Little Shop of Horrors is a very PARANOiD story. To love, and loose, trial and fail. Audrey is ultimately killed by the love that Seymour had for her. Tragic, but beautiful. He killed for her, and she died for him.
