This is the most absurd, fascinating, irrational, complex… and yet working and most fun thing I have ever built. I am not sure if anyone has any interest in flying through space in full nerd mode and exploring the connected (Multi-Graph) SAPVerse. But I have so much fun building, I can‘t stop. 😄

Part 2 on CAP data federation is a long read, but I think (hope) it really shows how the plugins extend CAP‘s strong foundation and make it super convenient to build mashup services in CAP. For end users, other apps and even LLMs. community.sap.com/t5/technolog...

Federating, Replicating, and Caching Remote Data in CAP — Part 2
At this year's reCAP I gave a talk on data federation in CAP, but 20 minutes only allow for a short intro. This two-part series tells the much bigger story of what data federation, delegation, and rep...

The 20 minute slot at #reCAP2026 was hardly enough to explain and showcase my take on data federation with CAP. So I wrote it all down in the @sapcommunity.bsky.social. Part 1 is on the theory, part 2 is hands-on. Plenty to read… but I think it’s worth the time. 😀 community.sap.com/t5/technolog...

Federating, Replicating, and Caching Remote Data in CAP — Part 1
Last year and this year at reCAP I had the honor and opportunity to give two talks on CAP performance optimization with data replication and caching. While I was able to introduce the core ideas, 20-m...

Session Sneak Peek Part 4: UI5 has entered the chat – AI, MCP Apps and UI5 @marian.zeis.de & @mikezaschka.bsky.social are bringing this exciting session to the #UI5con2026 stage and this one will have everyone talking! #UI5 #AI #MCP
Sneak Peek: Sessions at UI5con 2026 Part 4.
Get a first look at the sessions our speakers are preparing for this year's UI5con.Session:
UI5 has entered the chat - AI, MCP Apps and UI5.

Speaker: Mike Zaschka & Marian ZeisThe hook 🎯

What if an LLM could do more than answer with text and open a real UI5-based app exactly when the user needs it?

The problem ❓

MCP tools are powerful, but for many developers it is still unclear how MCP Apps actually work: who calls the tool, where the UI comes from, how data reaches the app, and how fixed or flexible that UI can be.

The benefit ✅

In this session, we will build the topic step by step: from a minimal MCP App to UI5 Web Components and Integration Cards, ending with a real SAP transport review use case where ARC-1 provides the data and a MCP Apps visualizes it.Want more

Teased at #reCAP2025 and now available: A new major release for cds-caching.

All tests for cds-caching 1.0 are finally green. 🎉 Took me much longer than expected. While Cursor (Claude) delivered great value in the beginning, it was a pain to make it connect all dots in the end. In the end, we actually had to switch roles... 😄 Now off to some documentation...

Haven‘t really played a video game for quite a while. #ClairObscur #Expedition33 looked interesting, so I gave it a shot. I only had little time to play, but it‘s the best game I have played for decades! Really felt the awe and wonder like when I was a 12 year old boy. 😀 Highly recommended!

CAP Plugin 3 (of 3) is making progress! It enables data replication between services with easy configuration via annotations. Features include full/delta loads, eventing, transformations, simple monitoring, and more. While there’s still work to do, the core functionality is already performing well.

Finally shipped cds-caching, an open-source #SAPCAP plugin with advanced caching functionality baked into CAP. Took me a while to battle the @sapcommunity.bsky.social blog engine, but I finally won and there now is a blog post explaining some of the plugin's features and potential use cases. 🔥

This took way longer than I had hoped for, but all tests are green now and I think it works quite well. Also having learned a lot on the #sapcap internals. cds-caching is not yet released as an NPM module, but it will be once I added the missing docs. #caching #redis github.com/mikezaschka/...

I already thought VSCode and Copilot were great, but Cursor and Claude just blew my mind. 😳

Playing around with request caching (not replication) in #SAPCAP. Might have found a nice way to hook into Application and RemoteServices, so it's just using a plugin and annotations will do the magic. Has anyone else looked into caching in CAP?

In the second post introducing cds-kafka I am sharing some details on real-world use cases and examples on how to use the #SAPCAP plugin to connect to local and cloud-based #Kafka brokers and even run a CAP app on #SAP #BTP receiving messages from Confluent Cloud.

To connect SAP cloud applications directly to Apache Kafka I created an open-source CAP plugin with a custom messaging service. Here is the introduction blog post: community.sap.com/t5/technolog...
