This is really good. And good for Noren for drawing the line. I've seen the teacher (below) present to kids and adults. He's masterful at demonstrating, through math that a solid 8th grader can understand, that the house will systematically crush you.

Families at schools with high participation rates in after school activities back-pedal on this issue when they learn that 9:00A start time means that kids aren't home from rehearsal/practice until 8:00. Bus rolls in from the away game at 10:30 (or they leave early and miss the last 3 periods).

Couple of yrs ago, I arrived in Peoria, IL, a day before a consulting gig. Driving around, I heard about a HS state sectional game on the radio about to start. Bee-lined it to the park, 2 very talented teams, chatted up some of the parents/fans, electric game won on a walk-off double. Amazing luck.

‘Habsburg AI’: Portrait of a metaphor and its family

Using a voice-trained AI tool to read to a child vs. reading to a child IRL is the cognitive development equivalent of a stale rice cake vs. a balanced, home-cooked meal. Any parent, uncle, babysitter should be able to intuit this. You don't have to be a child development expert.

Banking on a stadium to be the magic answer is foolish, but there's gotta be something to cultural synergy with other city civic efforts. The worst case scenario, in my mind, is sports venues rusticated to off-brand-Disney complexes in the exurbs--what Isaiah Thomas called "plantation basketball."

I wish this report had more credibility as I think there is a compelling argument there. The club could find synergy with successful downtown development in KC, unlike STL where the park and its neighboring entertainment venue are siloed bc there's no viable municipal partner.
