okay and here is my ‘sounds like a shitpost but it’s genuine’ UK heatwave tip: if there is a Saxon or Norman church near you, and it’s open, go sit in it. not gothic, they have too many windows, get you some thick stone walls with some high up tiny windows. they stay cold. and you can just sit there

Popped out on my bike to catch the sunset, and could see some of the planetary alignment as the skies darkened. Venus very clear and bright, with a faint Mercury just above the banks of cloud on the horizon. Most of the rest of the alignment are around or below where Mercury is but too faint to see.

Finished painting this Scibor Miniatures Dwarf Lord on bear mount tonight. I made gave her a different axe head and made a crown out of little brass Dwarf runes from Greenstuffworld. Same runes used on the axe head.

Another Dwarf model for Warhammer : The Old World finished tonight, this time the classic (1987) Bugmans Brew cart, pulled by the Grudgepony originally found in the Battle for Skull Pass (2006) box. I made some changes to the original model, sides, a barrel tap, a front seat and chains/crossbar.

Just finished reading this. There are a lot of mediocre to bad WH40K novels out there but this is _really_ good. Essentially a story of two near-immortal beings out to dick each other over at every opportunity that plays out over millions of years. Some great exploration of WH40K lore.

I'm trying to get back into museum modelmaking (have done work in lots of local museums, as well as the Natural History Museum in Kensington and the Smithsonian in Washington). This was for Rayleigh Mount, Essex - a site now a tourist windmill where archaeological evidence showed a Norman fort.

Been re-learning my hand tools for woodworking by way of building a little display shelf for my Key to Erebor replica. Coming along nicely. Taking it slow, making sure I get precise angles and sharp corners. This reclaimed teak is lovely to work with.

F111 Aardvark Ejection capsule objective marker. We took an STL of an Aardvark and @mikesouthhobbies.bsky.social cut the ejection capsule from it and modelled the canpoy sections as well for it. Need to reprint the other canopy piece but otherwise, so far so good! #Teamyankee
