Mike Shoun @mikeshoun.bsky.social · 06/10/2026way to go MJ! I will never forget watching Jordan hit the game winning shot to beat Georgetown for the title when I was 11 or 12! I was from East TN and was a Carolina fan then. (Then the Wolfpack won the year after) favorite sports moment as a kid only second to Dwight Clark’s catch 000 0
Mike Shoun @mikeshoun.bsky.social · 03/10/20264/8/89 is the same venue, just called arena instead of coliseum, right? Those were the only 2 day 2 city shows I saw (Cincinnati/Louisville) 100 0
Mike Shoun @mikeshoun.bsky.social · 26/09/2026Wow awesome I saw Bowie with Belew earlier that month outside Kansas City he was doing a stripped down greatest hits tour which was the polar opposite of the previous glass spider tour 000 0
Mike Shoun @mikeshoun.bsky.social · 22/09/2026Having moved to San Francisco in 1996, I knew by 2000 that this would definitely not be the case. By 2012 it was clear how utterly destructive it would all be. 030 0
Mike Shoun @mikeshoun.bsky.social · 18/09/2026That is great they played at the Lab. I saw such a wild variety of music there, probably my favorite of which was Miya Masaoka’s piece with her body, bees and lasers. This video is only an intro to what the live performance was youtu.be/7ae28BNdXAwyoutu.beThis was performed with 8 speakers in 2000 at The Lab, SFEMFYouTube video by Miya Masaoka 000 0

Mike Shoun @mikeshoun.bsky.social · 27/08/2026It would be interesting to know a bit more about Weir’s approach and methodology to songwriting in the 80s and 90s and beyond (post Go To Heaven), the demos w drum machine are a window, but he worked w G. Graham (Two Djinn, Money For Gasoline, anyone?) and returned to Hunter for inspiration. 000 0
Mike Shoun @mikeshoun.bsky.social · 26/08/2026I have had to go a few times in the past handful since I am not far away w/kids. Yes it is weird and pleasantly painful but there is less music now and more emphasis on rides and bad souvenirs 120 0

Mike Shoun @mikeshoun.bsky.social · 18/08/2026I had just bought my first CD player with money from working at Pizza Hut and this had just hit stores, its release was a pretty big deal and ended up selling more than any other non-major label album that year (Reagan was still president) 000 0

Mike Shoun @mikeshoun.bsky.social · 15/07/2026The board of this one has always sounded a bit weird, go with the audience. This is not my favorite night of this run, the last 2 are bonkers but it’s one of my favorite runs so it is a very good show w the band still getting settled into 2 drummer action and Jerry still hasn’t relearned Playin’. 010 0

Mike Shoun @mikeshoun.bsky.social · 18/04/2026Yeah, you’re wrong the 1994 World Cup was amazing with full stadiums with 60k people in them. There were no issues with people coming into the US and ticket prices were very fair. The only issue was the heat, Italy and Brazil were clearly suffering in the final. 080 0
