Went to change the lightbulb on the porch light - which is a fixture I loathe but pretty far down in the list of things to update. Apparently the feeling is mutual.

Bulb minus the screw in part that was still in the porch light at the time this picture was taken. It has since been removed and a new bulb installed instead. The Bulb is dead! Long live the Bulb!

Spent the day working on a chocolate roulade for part of a friend's bday dessert and it utterly failed. Recipe I hadn't used before from trusted baker If only I had taught a bouche de noel class to 16 people who couldn't bake their way out of a box cake in Dec and had that recipe lying around.

Morning spent writing/documenting issues with a specific benefit at work after an appeal, an accommodation, and the walk back of the accommodation two days later. It's only taken me two months to be able to sit and write everything without having a massive round of anxiety.

every hometown’s got the ominous megastructure, what’s yours? Less of a mega structure and more a compound. 23 square mile army depot where chemical munitions from WWII onward were stored in underground bunkers. Had a golf course & camping, & cows so if they tipped over they knew there was a leak.
