Recently, Anthropic made adjustments to Claude, making it harder to be “mean” to the AI model. Why protect Claude? Maybe concern about what Claude will do in retaliation. I doubt they have this thing under control.

The news is filled with discussions of AI going rogue. Some leaders of the companies developing AI, are issuing warnings. But, there is a subtle undercurrent. That: “only they can save us”. They created the programs, assigned tasks & now say they are not responsible. Just give power & all’s well.

Totally accurate. The % of wealth generated flowing to labor has decreased over my lifetime, while the % going to owners & mgmt has increased. The concept of “enhancing shareholder value” started early in my career. Worker’s annual raises were capped at about 3%. Mgmt took bonuses to goose earnings.

While the current price of diesel is outrageous, at some point in the future it will come down (I’m hoping the war ends & supply lines repair). But, when diesel comes back to $3.50 or less, want to bet that grocery & other goods will not give back the fuel surcharge. Those prices are now baked in.

Question: gas & diesel prices near record levels hurting middle & low income the most. A very small % of our oil comes through the Strait of Hormuz. Since West Tx crude is domestic, why isn’t the US able to tamp down prices & leverage that advantage. Answer: oil companies price “At market” - Greed.
