The world is just moving too fast. I just took a deepish dive into Typesafe.AI's Jev, and Firecrawl's Alexandria today, and it's made me think I should just rip up and start again on some of the Mastra workflows I've been working on for the last couple of months. Hey ho.

Great thread. But also there's no demand, the market doesn't need more music. There is just _so much_ already out there. I used to work for a German music streaming service, and something 70% of the listed tracks had never been listened to, not even once.

I've been using zed.dev almost exclusively as my main IDE for most of this year, with a brief diversion to Cursor. It's really good as a traditional IDE, but the agent harness is very nice to use too. The main thing I'm missing now are good database tools.

I've changed from using Cursor to Zed for agentic coding. Using the Zed built in agent harness which displays all the "thinking" output from the LLM. One interesting observation is how often the LLM has repeating thoughts: "I'm noticing ..." over and over.

I just asked Claude Code on your behalf and it recommended the MuseScore command line. It seems a big question is how well quantised the MIDI is. If it's a very human performance the MuseScore output is going to need a _lot_ of fixing up afterwards.

Currently experimenting with creating an AI generated corpus of business information. We're starting from a large curated list of business "challenges". We will then index it and use it as input into an agentic chatbot. The hunch is that this will provide more value than a straight chat-with-GPT.

I live in Lewes and often walk up and down the riverside path next to where the train derailed. The first I heard of it was when my brother texted me to make sure I wasn't on the train.

I haven't knowingly experienced it yet (listening to AI music, or reading an AI book), but I have no philosophical problem with either. If they entertain or educate me, why not? I enjoy looking at the moon and clouds, and listening to the sound of wind in the trees, none of which is made by humans.

There is a huge amount of "cope" among arts people who claim they can spot AI prose (for example) and that it's sub-standard, but then pay $2m for a crime novel that later turns out to be AI generated. I'm tempted to ask if it really matters if a book is AI generated so long as you enjoy it?

This is a good read. I do think people misunderstand what humans are actually designed for - we're highly optimized survival machines. Today to Charleston in Lewes for the Walter Sickert and Gladys Hynes exhibitions. Dimly aware of Sickert before, but I'd never heard of Hynes. Her exhibition turned out to be the most interesting, especially on the interwar art world that she was a part of.

I had a very interesting time at the Typescript AI conference in London on Thursday. It was hosted by Mastra, the TS agent framework that we're using to build an agentic experience over a CMS. Lots of interesting stuff, especially around running agents in production.
