I have a guest column in the Brighton Standard Blade, Westminster Window, and other local papers this week on BroncosRide and RTD’s continued failure to deliver for the north Front Range. We need to ask for more and fight to protect routes like the RX. Link in the comments.

Today marks five months to the general election. I’m proud to be able to announce another wave of endorsements, from leaders all over Colorado’s front range that know it’s time for change at RTD. Thank you to the 60+ people and organizations that believe in an RTD that works for everyone.

I really appreciate that both the major candidates are taking commerce city seriously this round. Certain other leaders wrote us of in the past and it means a lot to see a better set of dems doing better.

It’s genuinely hilarious how after a certain candidates abysmal showing at caucus and state assembly every single Serious Thinker in politics is all repeating the exact same talking points from a couple of PR firms.

I couldn't be prouder to be one of many voices in supporting this vital legislation to make housing easier to build. Lots of folks say they want to build affordable housing--I mean it. Fun fact: the HOME Act allows RTD to build more housing... Wonder if anyone is running on doing just that?

Proud to have the support of dozens of elected officials from across the front range from local leadership to statewide elected officials! We’ve tried the GOP leaders: we have an unfinished train, less service, and a budget crisis. Let's build an RTD that works for everyone with someone new.

Ten circular headshots of endorsers are arranged in a grid with titles and names: Representative Javier Mabrey; Senadora Julie Gonzales; Councilor Jack Johnson; Senator Judy Amabile; Representative Gretchen Rydin; Councilor Anil Pesaramelli; Representative Andy Boesenecker; Representative Steven Woodrow; Representative Manny Rutinel; Representative Shannon Bird. Praying for her family tonight. Hug your loved ones a little tighter.
Faith Winter was a fighter. She believed in a bigger idea for Colorado and fought for it. I saw her buck systems for years and fight for what she believed in--she refused to see tabor as an insurmountable obstacle and found ways around it, to build a better Colorado. She was also so proud of her kids, and wanted to leave them a better world. I am truly heartbroken at her loss, my prayers go out to her family and loved ones tonight.

Thank you, veterans, today on Veterans Day and every day. As the son, grandson, and great-grandson of veterans, I’m deeply grateful for their service. Their dedication to the values our nation stands for, including freedom, opportunity, and a better world, have shaped who I am.
Graphic honoring Veterans Day. The background shows the American flag waving in the wind. In the foreground are three stylized blue silhouettes of service members saluting. The text reads: “Veteran’s Day – November 11” above, and below in large white letters, “THANK YOU VETERANS.” Underneath that it says, “For your sacrifice for our nation’s values and freedom. Freedom isn’t free!” At the bottom, it reads, “Michael for RTD Team,” next to a circular campaign logo showing a blue transit bus in front of green and yellow mountains.

The problem with Rumble, Gab, Mastodon, and now Bluesky is that when you define yourself by opposing a useful—if flawed—tool’s misuse, you end up with a no-true-Scotsman purity culture that regular users find deeply off-putting. Push back, and you lose the loyal purity-testing ones too.

We need more housing so our grandparents can stay in our communities as they age! "Today’s affordability crisis can be traced to a number of factors, including . . . the Great Recession, rising construction costs and restrictive zoning policies that make it hard to build large numbers of units."
News: Aging in Colorado
As Colorado ages, seniors are colliding with the housing crisis
Most older residents want to age in place. But experts say Colorado’s housing stock wasn’t built with their needs in mind.

This is actually a very good sign. Dems willing to loudly fight for our values are much more useful to the party than Dems (like our governor) who put up only tepid private hesitance while trying to placate the President's irrational whims.

This app man. I need bluesky posters to stop being HOA presidents. If you want regular people to agree with you, do not criticize the way they are agreeing with you because it is insufficiently aligned with the "proper" language. This app is fun because it's like opening a 2020 time capsule

One of the things I worry about is that small towns often feel bullied by cities and complain that no one wants to move to them, or complain about under service (food- healthcare- legal-deserts) but they consistently fail to fund schools and other essential services. What's the end game of this?
040
Michael A. Farrington @mikefromco.bsky.social · 06/05/2025
Yeah, this shouldn't be surprising. Coloradans are facing enough pressure from rising costs in all areas, a 1% fee on their insurance to make big business happy isn't a solution. Good on the state leg here.
