And a few years later Star Trek does the opposite featuring long lingering shots of EVERYTHING. Like they wanted to make sure you saw every dollar one the screen. I Ike TMP but I can’t defend the lethargic pace.

Love this one. A big step up from Prince of Darkness which is good but takes too long to get going. I have the Blu-ray of Taste en route so I’ll be giving that a rewatch tomorrow.

I think the GFIII would be remembered much better if Winona Ryder hadn’t dropped out. You needed to feel it when the character died and all Sophia Coppola made you feel was glad.

Have you seen Taste of Fear aka Scream of Fear from 1961? More of a thriller than a horror, it’s one of the “mini-Hitchcocks” Hammer Films made post-Psycho. High recommend.

For me the Marvel slump goes way back to when Bill Jemas was running the company before the Disney buy out. There have been exceptions of course, but I haven’t enjoyed Marvel overall for years and years.

My mom took me to see Alien when I was 9. I was a space kid and a monster kid. He’s gonna love a space monster. The movie gave me a panic attack and she had to practically drag me from the theater.

I personally agree with Romero, the theatrical cut is best and the one I usually choose to watch. Got to see it in the theater a few years ago they released it in 3D. Although Day of the Dead is my favorite, I freely acknowledge that Dawn is the "best."
