Seriously, if you have the means and want to support an artist, buy their music. I promise you it helps them out a ton, and it means the world to them. AND YOU OWN THE SONG, INSTEAD OF PRAYING YOUR STREAMING SERVICE DOESN'T REMOVE IT IN THE FUTURE FOR WHATEVER REASON! A win-win in my opinion. ;)

Wanted to take a moment to say I'm very thankful. I know the world is exploding right now and we're all struggling, but I still feel very lucky and blessed to be able to learn and do music right now. Past Mike would never believe it. I like to think he'd be proud. :')

Update: It's working. Who would have thought. 🫠🎸

mikedrop @mikedropaudio.com · 09/07/2026

- Select tracks when samples are dropped could be VERY useful, especially with my workflow. - The chord stamp tool having the options to play top down or bottom up is cool! So yeah, I know I didn't touch on everything, but I am digging it so far. Enjoy your free update FL users! ^_^ 4/4

000

mikedrop @mikedropaudio.com · 09/07/2026

- Showing sample waveforms in the browser *could* be good? I'm gonna give it a try but only time will tell if it's for me. - Audio logger is SUPER cool to have, though I wish it could go beyond the master channel, like how it works in Logic Pro. Still a nice feature though! 3/4

mikedrop @mikedropaudio.com · 09/07/2026

- I don't use FL Cloud, but I'll never say no to a cloud backup option that doesn't skim my work for AI. - I don't use Gopher / AI, so I couldn't care less about it. - "Sort by" in the channel rack is nice. - Thank GOD we have panning in clip properties now. ;v; 2/4

Day 1 thoughts: - Chord Detection is HUGE for me. - Renaming MIDI keys in the piano roll is gonna be super useful, especially for drum stuff. - New FLEX is alright. It looks nice, but change is scary, haha. New instruments seem solid though. 1/4

That said, I really enjoy YouTube channels like "8-bit Music Theory" (www.youtube.com/@8bitMusicTh...) to try and learn more. Very fun, passionate, and informative! It's a slow process, but the more I watch the more I learn / grow. I think that's pretty heckin cool. :)

I'm being so real when I say it blows me away seeing artists talk about music theory. I'm mostly self taught, so I can't read music, or understand a lot of the terminology. I kind of just go by "this sounds good." I want to learn more so I can grow as an artist, but BOY it's super daunting. 😰🫠🎶

For transparency sake, I'm very biased. I am Simon's video editor, so Simon gave me some of his kits for the price of on the house (thank you again my guy! 🙏) BUT my point still stands. Would absolutely recommend them anyway, and would absolutely spend my own money to get them.
