She's literally doing the same thing. Standing up for her views on a politically charged issue. You might not like her views (which is obvious) but the comparison is totally flawed!

Be careful what you wish for. Bank dividends pay peoples pensions, both company and personal. Also, unlike so many multinationals that actually pay tax in the UK. Maybe go after Amazon, Alphabet, Apple, Meta. Microsoft, Starbucks, IKEA, Boohoo, JD Sports etc.

They both have personal views and are standing by them. The fact that you clearly agree with one (rightly) and disagree with the other is all about you and your views. On the Rooney case the issue sits with Starmer's unhinged decision. Hopefully Burnham will take the earliest opportunity to revoke.

While reading her statement she got tripped up on a word. One of the reporters yelled, "Sound it out"

Michael Gove splits with his 26 yr younger partner, just as the news of her charges for possessing indecent images of children become public, and most of the British media remain quiet 🤔 www.aol.com/articles/oxf...

Yes and yes. But to satisfy the BBC's love for impartiality. No and no. Also: Yes and no No and yes

Seriously, they should be made to sign a declaration that if they end up in hospital they either do or don't want to be treated by a 'foreigner'. Then abide by it!

Thanks, but I'll pass. Very tired of the BBC's political offering. You're the best of a bad bunch but I'd rather have a lie in and save my shouting for @southamptonfc.bsky.social v Pompey. Up the Saints!

It's all about him. Can't just report the facts like a proper journalist. He just can't resist acting like he's smarter than everyone else. He, Zeffman and Kuensberg are stains on serious political journalism.

Can't take him seriously. A load of macho, religious, weirdly homo erotic chatter. I'll wait and see what Colin Jost makes of it on SNL.

"I know nothing about Sheeran" you should probably have stop there. Promoters work for artist. Venue contracts were in place. Sheeran should have told Kraft to do one and then if he did cancel, sue the arse of him! Venues don't get to pick headliners, support artist or set lists.

Contracts for venues are signed years in advance. Unless the contract had a "we can pick your support acts" clause (never going to happen, ever) then an arena saying NO will come cost them a fortune. The lawyers would have a field day!

When you're as successful as Sheeran you don't bow down to promoters. The promoter may well 'pick' the supports but it's down with the absolute agreement of the headliner.

If a multi millionaire musician that doesn't need NFL venues to make a living won't stand his ground then what hope does anyone have. I hope other artists dodge the MetLife in future.

If you didn't understand the quote then try Googling it. It's nothing to do with Israel or Gaza. It's about reporters think they're job is to give equal credence to both sides of an argument (the BBC fallback position). There job is to report the facts!

Might be a good time to remind the BBC Journalism 101: "If someone says it's raining & another person says it's dry, it's not your job to quote them both. Your job is to look out the window and find out which is true"

"Political power was centralised" always has been always will be. Councils have little power because they have little targetable income. "Economic power, privatised" 100% "The country, deindustrialised" out of the governments control. Industrial production tends to the cheapest producer.

I total agree about freight but that's a different issue. It seems like a 'no brainer' but in most cases trains are rubbish for A to B delivery. They work best when large volumes need to go use the same route, like quarry to port. Getting good to and from the station tends to ruin the economics.

As battery power density increased and charge times decrease the weight of cars will come down. It's a small price to play for this generation of EVs. Generally speaking cars don't do the damage, lorries do. Just look at the inside lane of any motorway or A road.
