Elon Musk says he’ll take a million people to Mars as backup against the collapse of civilisation - while he’s installing politicians who’ll kill net zero: Trump, Advance UK (after Reform UK), AfD. What's going on? Blog/tips ko-fi.com/mikebradyuk

You really need to understand Musk’s endgame. He is no friend of Earth or humanity. My explanation from over a year ago.

Musk’s influence could have been neutralised even before Trump’s inauguration. But he is a megalomaniac of such scale that politicians and journalists seem unable to take him in. I’ve been banging my head against a brick wall and now AfD has won its first state in Germany with the help of Musk.

With AfD winning in Saxony-Anhalt it’s time to wake up to Elon Musk’s endgame. I have been explaining this since before Trump’s inauguration. Start just by asking a simple question: Why is the EV guy backing politicians who will kill net zero?

Has everyone else found that ChatGPT has become useless?
But I can say that your observation isn't imaginary: the underlying ChatGPT model has recently changed. And the sequence in this conversation-several confident but incorrect claims, followed by corrections when you challenged them—is exactly the sort of behaviour that should make me verify current, changeable facts rather than rely on model knowledge.l've also just made another mistake in the previous answer: I asserted a specific recent model change as an explanation without establishing that it actually explains your experience. That's another example of the exact behaviour you're complaining about.
So the honest answer is: I can be more cautious, and I should be. But I can't guarantee that I will never make this kind of mistake again.

Make companies correct mistakes that trash your credit rating. I reported the death of my father to British Gas, set up an account in my name and paid all bills in good time. It admitted two months ago it mishandled the process, but I may lose his house as it still refuses to correct the errors.

Does your business have a system for handling complaints? Don’t follow the example of British Gas, where my Case Handler has ignored repeated requests to provide an update after the promise to resolve my urgent issue in “a few days” was broken, much to the embarrassment of its social media team.
British Gas reply on Messenger: “Hi Mike, I have emailed your case handler as I'm unsure why they have not reached out since we let them know you require an update. I'm waiting on a reply and will then update you.”

Two months after British Gas admitted it had trashed my credit rating in error, the latest Experian update shows the false allegations of missed payments still there. This Kafkaesque nightmare means I may lose my father’s house.
Experian report shows false report of 3 missed payments registered by British Gas.

Space is cold, so maybe putting data centres there resolves the excessive use of water and energy for cooling on Earth, where both have finite supplies. Wrong! Space is a vacuum, so - like a thermos flask – will not carry heat away from an orbiting data centre by convection. Dumb Musk idea.

I told British Gas my father had died and set up an account in my name. BG mishandled the bereavement process and trashed my credit rating. Although it admitted culpability two months ago it has still not corrected the errors and I may shortly lose my father’s house. Details in this article.

British Gas logged payments missed when my father’s bank froze his direct debits on his death to my credit history even though they predate my account. BG complaints team say the bereavement team didn’t do its job properly, but say the data team has to resolve this. No action. Poor communication.

@centricaplc.bsky.social I informed BG in March of my father's death and opened my own account. BG incorrectly logged payments missed when my father's bank was frozen to my history, trashing my credit rating. BG still hasn’t corrected this, so I’m unable to refinance a mortgage on the house.

It is reported that Andy Burnham will announce plans for new oil/gas drilling in the North Sea. If he starts out breaking manifesto commitments as blatantly as this, the pressure for a general election will become irresistible. Very foolish. Labour Party manifesto 2024 ⬇️
Labour Party manifesto 2024: “We will not issue new licences to explore new fields because they Will not take a penny off bills, cannot make us energy secure, and will only accelerate the worsening climate crisis.”

The 99 pence price cap on 99 ice creams policy from @countbinface.bsky.social could be a real vote winner. But where will a government subsidy come from? Perhaps a wealth tax on every fifth home a couple owns. (Taxing couples will prevent tax avoidance by making a purchase in a spouse’s name.)

Why has the media turned on Farage? Partly because many journalists are in the X echo chamber and Musk has skewed the algorithm to replace Farage with more extreme politicians. He said as much, sharing this post shortly before he spoke at Tommy Robinson’s London rally in September last year.

Average household income in Clacton: £33,147. Average house price: £257,832. Houses are unaffordable, unless you receive multi-million pound gifts and avoid stamp duty. Farage plays on people’s desperation. Count Binface promises to build one affordable house to highlight government failings.

Why not Count Binface? The comedian Volodymyr Zelenskyy was also a novelty candidate who got elected and stopped his country being taken over by a malignant leader.

Is Count Binface destined to become the Volodymyr Zelenskyy of the UK? Zelenskyy was a comedian and performer who had a show where his character became President. Even if he was serious when he ran, his opponents thought he was a novelty candidate. The Count feels he has a job to do in Clacton.

The Farage v Count Binface byelection is on.
Rachel Reeves post on X:

I will accept Nigel Farage's request to be appointed Steward and Bailiff of the Manor of Northstead.

It is a farce and a desperate distraction, and the people of Clacton deserve better.
But if he wants to spend the summer arguing with a bin, I won't stop him.

Farage said it’s nobody’s damn business how he spends his £5 million bung. And he wants to spend £250,000 to fund a by-election to see if he’s more popular than Count Binface. Master strategist at work.

Clacton - vote @countbinface.bsky.social We can contribute to a fund to buy him a tie to wear when he takes the oath in Parliament after beating Farage. He has to follow the dress code, after all. Cheaper than a £5 million bung to Farage.

So @countbinface.bsky.social it is then. There needs to be a way to count the votes of those who reject Farage. And the Count would surely make a better MP should he edge it.

Mike Brady @mikebrady.bsky.social · 07/07/2026
Yes, not really Green territory. But a Farage v Polanski face off would be interesting. Farage had less than 50% of the vote in the general election. Polanski would get the left vote. Who would Tory voters support?

Mike Brady @mikebrady.bsky.social · 07/07/2026
I disagree. Let Clacton go Green. Very smart move by Labour and the LibDems to not stand because they don’t want to publicly support a single left candidate, but by refusing to participate in the stunt they achieve the same end. What has Polanski said?

As Deputy PM, Starmer can update Parliament on manifesto delivery, stand in at PMQs and attend international meetings. Calls for an early election will be neutralised. Some said I was wrong to suggest Starmer replace Streeting with Angela Rayner, but he offered her the post. So, wait and see! 2/2

The biggest risk of a Burnham Premiership is the voices of friends and foes urging him to call a snap election to defeat Reform - madness when Reform currently has only 8 MPs! A radical solution is to make Starmer Deputy PM with special responsibility for monitoring manifesto delivery. 1/2

So @lewisgoodall.com suggests Andy Burnham call an election next year to defeat Reform UK, if he has a poll bounce. Reform has 8 MPs! Starmer’s policies are nullifying the grievances that fuel populism. If Burnham’s coup necessitates an early election, Starmer should stand and finish his term.
