iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

oops missed the three thumbs somehow 😝

I’ve only heard good things! But yeah incident history not looking inspiring

100

It has always looked out of place I just thought I’d bring it up because I’ve hated it for as long as it’s existed like that 😝

020

lol feel like I’ve seen that somewhere

I’m somewhat receptive to the idea of a two-column layout, but you have to consider importance of those columns. As someone said, is the right column really as important as the timeline? Not to mention the weird spacing choices, messages looking totally out of place. There is no consistency anywhere

That one looked very interesting. Can’t wait

great project!! i wanna read some of these books now. if you have a top 3 from what you've discovered please send it my way

I think we have reached the top of rebrand introduction videos

I may have celebrated too early. I’m getting literal spam not just in my inbox, but in my PRIMARY (supposed to be most important) inbox category. Definitely some tuning needed for this feature

Spam email for a free 2 month home warranty! Wow!

It seems inevitable to me that we get ads, and I want them to survive. The paid tier however should remove the ads It’s also good to remember if they start pulling engagement levers you don’t like pulled to optimize rev you have multiple courses of action (by design): feeds, clients, and PDS

Lol good to know!! Thankfully I have some roguelike exposure and the menus are pretty for when I hit that death screen

You have to watch it in motion, you really do. Unfortunately compression does extra damage to a style like this www.youtube.com/watch?v=4nG-...

Cave's of Qud released yesterday after 15 years of development and I am completely enthralled by the visual work on display here. The info density, palette, and visual artifacts hitting on all cylinders in both the menu system and the environmental design of the gameplay. It's fucking good

Screenshot from Caves of Qud gameplay highlighting its use of a limited color palette to direct attention.

Screenshot from Caves of Qud menu system (Quests) showing it's information density and text-heavy aesthetic.

Caves of Qud character creation screen. It's very minimal in contrast to the other information dense screens in the menu system.

The environmental design of Caves of Qud has beautiful moments of symmetry and again a powerful color palette.

I think posthog is probably your best bet for product analytics. but I wouldn't necessarily say it's automatically EU compliant—some setup required but the docs are pretty good.

it’s got all the right people mad 😝

midnightgrocer 🌙 mikey @midnigh.ht · 26/11/2024

pro tip, check your microwave shielding. It’s not unlikely it operates on the same 2.4gHz band as your WiFi and only needs to leak a small amount of radiation before messing with the network. Happened to us. My brother would nuke a burrito and I’d get kicked out of overwatch or get crazy ping

I hear this every week now. I’ve only made through two epis… guess I need to revisit.

Just got my rental for the week. The Sony FX-30 is an astonishing build of a product. Feels great in the hand, build quality is top notch minus the plasticky dial in the rear. The style is on point and very utilitarian with the built in 1/4-20 threads I love this for $1500

I’m concerned this will hurt Google’s interest in continuing to heavily invest and push web standards. While chrome certainly has some ugly (hello manifest v3), all things considered it has been a Mostly Good™ trade for the web at large

You’ve been on it dude. Great work

Never heard of it but looks great. Thanks! Cool that it has apps

000

As much as I hate it I’ll probably end up with the Kindle Scribe. It recently got refreshed and looks way better—has a color screen and reads books like you’d expect

Time to relax and tinker with blueview! 🍻

Thanksgiving is the only day of the year where I fully embrace the Englishman way of life. There better be beans on that table, and I’m putting them on everything

Haha sorry. My sarcasm is thick this morning. I was saying my method of struggling has been a mixed bag. I often miss a border or two when trying to get the perfect crop, so I’ll be trying the dom approach!

God I love Remarkable. The product is so good and fun to use. But I returned it today because reading ebooks on it (a major boon for e-ink devices) is awful. If you didn’t know, Remarkable can’t read epubs. It converts everything to PDF, which is slow, some images don’t load, and no reflow options.
