my comms are always open and it'd be nice to have some ground under my feet in case i get kicked out hashtag queer youth. so that's nice if u choose to do that. there are people who need money far more than me though so you should probably seek them out first

so you mean you can't hide the extremely long list of noto fonts from the font picker without uninstalling them and losing language support

i feel kind of screwed musically. i like making music but i also like eating and i feel like these things for an actual independent artist are kind of at odds. my music isn't good enough to play local venues or anything and i'm not good at live performance anyway

This reminds me of a youtuber I saw once complaining that Garfield Kart would shut down his computer with a controller plugged in and it turns out the problem was that the most upvoted steam config for Garfield Kart at the time was a community config that bound every button to "Shutdown Computer"

ok actually the nuclide approach of having each widget be a linked list is kind of shit

100

mimi superhell @superhell.org · 05/10/2026

i'm glad the internet at large is starting to respect mlp fans now. i still see things propelled at me from the wider internet that say shit about us but the last time i remember that happening it was just a youtube thumbnail about how WEEEIRD BROOONIES ARE

mimi superhell @superhell.org · 05/10/2026

i cannot believe that worked

quakec code to create 3 colored widgets (root, test1, and test2), append test1 and test2 to root and then remove test1. this is a test of my WIP GUI toolkit's ability to manage a linked list of widgets

the code shown working (test1 was green and it is not present, while root and test2 are blue and red respectively and Are present)

mimi will say shit like oh i want a UI toolkit for my quake mod since a bunch of things in the game i'm ripping off are very UI-dependent and then spend 2 hours making this happen in menuQC and then will be like yeah i can make vgui3

rainbow sample text in a couple TF2 fonts

mimi superhell @superhell.org · 04/10/2026

i think the reason why i love doing things in FTE so much is that it feels like writing gamemodes in gmod lua if you didn't have to put up with glua's bullshit (you have to put up with quakec's instead) and also you aren't actively fighting half-life 2 to get anything done

the good news is that since I’m pretty much a full time FTE girlie now and I don’t really have an interest in working with Source anymore and I’m having a shit time with Windows I could probably get away with switching to Linux
