once again America has put something interesting at a train station only after making it impossible to get to by train. www.sfchronicle.com/bayarea/article…
A text document with the following text: "Midway through Sunday’s ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Atherton Train Station Museum, the train itself came roaring through the station without even slowing down. Caltrain no longer stops in Atherton, which is the whole reason the unique glass box depot house was available to be turned into a monument to the old commuter line."

if a fog wore pants
San Francisco Chronicle infographic with a drawing of the Golden Gate Bridge with four different fog configurations.

Fog's golden measuring stick
Top of tower: 746 feet
HIGH PRESSURE
Roadway: 245 feet
Golden Gate Bridge
Coastal fog forms through an interaction
between wind, temperature and ocean
currents. But a key factor to the vertical
extent is the inversion, a boundary between
cool, moist marine air and hot, dry air above.
Shallow inversion: About 250 feet
When high-pressure systems expand over the
West Coast, fog is limited to a shallow but
dense layer beneath the inversion, just at and
below the deck of the Golden Gate Bridge.
LOW PRESSURE
Typical inversion: Around 600 feet
On a typical day. the marine layer swallows the
bridge, hovering between the deck and the
tops of the towers, with the inversion acting as
a lid above.
Deep inversion: 1,500+ feet
When low-pressure systems intrude on the
coast, the inversion can rise to 1,500 feet or
higher, pushing clouds high above the
bridge's towers.
