Large circular feature between the red arrows, lying under the village. Finds are Neolithic to Bronze Age. The diameter is similar to those of henge monuments to the north.LiDAR view of the circular feature beneath the village.Flint arrowheads dating to the earlier Neolithic (top) and late Neolithic-to-Early Bronze Age (bottom). The barbed-and-tanged arrowhead is particularly fine.

Somebody needs to have a very careful self-awareness think about themselves and decision-making. Millions of us are still disabled, barely functioning, six years later, zero help or support. Many more think SARS-CoV-2 Covid19 is all behind us. *The pandemic is NOT over*. I feel insulted. #LongCOVID

Old enough to remember Gillam's work and his Roman pottery articles in Arch Aeliana, especially for Hadrian's Wall. Do we have a new epithet for C4th "Huntcliff ware". E.g. "like blackened hobnobs", or Crambeck as "malted milk biscuits" :-)

Latest Thornborough Aerial Survey Completed | YAA Mapping in conjunction w/ EH and TAG have released the latest aerial survey images of the Thornborough Neolithic Henge complex, images taken end of July 2026 during the latest drought. (Near Ripon, North Yorkshire) thornboroughag.org/2026/07/31/l...
The three Thornborough henges, aligned to Orion's belt.

Twelve kilometres north of Ripon, North Yorkshire, is Britain’s best kept prehistoric secret — the three giant Thornborough henges, circular ritual earthworks each about 240m across. They represent one of the largest earthmoving episodes undertaken in Neolithic Britain and are at the heart of a remarkable ‘sacred landscape’ in use for over 2,000 years.

25 tonnes of nurdles, more than 1 billion nurdles, were spilled into the Tyne last week and are washing up on our beaches, north and south of the Tyne. Likely one of the largest ever plastic pollution events in the UK. There is remarkably little mention of this on here.
Guardian headline from Weds 22nd July reading:

“One billion plastic pellets spilled into River Tyne after two ships collide
Up to 25 tonnes of nurdles, the raw material for plastic manutacturing, have spread further than initially feared”

With an image of a beach covered in nurdles.

"Career Politicians" know how to avoid public scrutiny. It's reflexive. "Me not you". The missing words are "conviction", "principles" and "ethics". The principle of the societal good, equality & wellbeing. This is why the UK is f*cked.
