I got a new dragon die and had to try it! It’s cut out and the edges finishes, just need to add a stone and bail. I also pressed a sword and will probably add amethyst to that, too. I’m trying to figure out a setup so you can wear them separately or together. Video of dragon in 3/3 post below.

I organized shelves of canned goods in my basement. I thought I had kept a close eye on expiration dates, sadly I did not. Now I get to play ‘is it good or will I regret eating it’ with a couple dozen cans 1-2 years past date. Everything is now labeled/stacked by date so this won’t happen again.

And today - Monday - it’s up another dime. $5.69 a gallon for heating oil. There was a brief spell in Nov 2022 when heating oil hit 5.69, the peak of a trend up over $5 that started mid-October and ended at the beginning of Dec. The next increase, as best I can tell, will be an all-time high.

Had a good afternoon at studio, made a lot of progress on these zodiac design pendants. 3 done, 9 to go!

Twelve copper pendants for the twelve zodiac symbols. The three on the right are completely done, the other nine are works in progress. Each pendant is a framed rectangle with a raised zodiac design. The design is two parts. The top part is the star pattern for the sign. The bottom part is a visual symbol, such as two twin girls, scales, a ram, etc.

It’s been a while since I made earrings.

Four pair of slightly domed round sterling silver earrings. Each pair has a different design of mushrooms nestled inside a crescent moon, and the images are reversed so the moons on both earrings face your head. The earrings are on sterling silver wires, with a green sea glass bead at the end of the wire, just above the disc.

When you find an old bag of discs you bought when silver was $15/ounce (it’s almost $67 right now), you can do fun things like make earrings and sell them for a really low price. So I did.

Two pair of sterling silver earrings. The earrings are one inch round sterling silver discs that are slightly domed. Each one has an impressed design of a crescent moon with mushroom plants nestled inside the moon. The earrings are on ear wires and there’s a green sea glass bead at the bottom of the wire, so just above the disc.

Studio today was working on 10 cuff bracelets (2 of each design) and three copper zodiac pendants. The four-step process I use makes the bracelet edges super-smooth, but it’s hard on my hands, and I kinda overdid it. Just need to form them and oxidize (blacken) so the details pop.

Five embossed strips of copper that will become cuff bracelets. The top one is holly, berries, and ivy, the middle three a complex swirl patterns in art nouveau styles, then bottom is dolphins and sea shells. Below the cuffs there are three rectangular copper pendants with embossed zodiac designs.
